What can I say, every tune was fantastic. Brought back old memories of way back when. And just to have all of my favorites on one cd makes it even better. This is a must have for anyone who remember the true oldies but goodies. I play it on my way to work, when I'm on a long riding trip and at home when I just want to kick back and pull out old pictures of the way we were. Who could ever forget BB King singing the Thrill is gone, or James Brown really singing so we could understand him, crooning to Its a mans world.

I need to make sure there is no mistake: I do NOT get paid by Rhino Records. But, I rave over their efforts unceasingly, just as their ongoing distribution of old music goes on.

This is another brick in their wall. Twenty two cuts, and the majority are either great songs regularly heard (and recorded), or are hard to find classics.

It has been decades since I heard Betty Harris' "Cry To Me", which stands quite strong, thank you very much, alongside Soloman Burke's version. Of a hundred folks who remember The Rolling Stone's early hit "Time Is On My Side" I'd wager less than five ever heard Irma Thomas stomp on it her own self.

Lovers of classic soul music will find these treasures alone worth the purchase price. Add Jackie Wilson's "Doggin' Round", Otis, the Enchanters and Sam & Dave, and this is one helluva collection.

I had this CD on tape for years and never thought I could find it on a CD. I did through Amazon and it's the best.
