I use to purchase cardboard checker games for my classroom, but found I had to replace them year after year. We've had this set for the past two years, and it looks almost new. My students gravitate to this game and have tournaments at lunch time. Truly a high quality checker set that would make a nice gift as well

After seeing lots of "junk" checkers games in the local stores I was very pleased to find this quality board. I love that the pieces store on the sides in little slots.
The board could also be used for chess if you purchased chess pieces. With this quality, the board can be passed down for a generation or two. I plan to contact the maker to see if additional pieces are available in case we do lose some.

Well made, good colors will alleviate eye strain during games. Best looking checker set I have ever seen. I sprayed my pieces and board with Satin Varathane for additional wear protection. Get the book, "Win at Checkers" by Millard Hopper (publ by Dover Press) for strategy tips.

This was a great deal. Nice heavy wooden board with checkers large eonough to actually use and feel comfortable with. Painted board may be a drawback after extended use, and checkers do not fit well together for kings, but other than that, I expext to get many years worth of playing out of this product.

A true classic & very well made! It is pretty enough to keep on a table and having it easily assessable promps us to play checkers at least 5 times a week. My husband engraved our daughters name & year on the back of the board,she just loved it!

This was for my grandson's 6th birthday and his parents wanted him to have a checker board that was reminiscent of the ones they had as children...He is a good little player and is enjoying his set.

Sturdy, nice product with onboard storage. Disappointed in the actual checker size though. Very small playing pieces. I understand the checkers are designed to store in the pockets at either end of the board but my belief is that the checkers could be made larger with only minor modification of the set. Hopefully the manufacturer will read this review and explore that possibility. Overall, this is a very nice product and one that should afford many years enjoyment.

This is a well made set with places on the board for storage of the pieces. It is better suited for children as the pieces are on the small size, but overall a nice set.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my young son. It is very durable and stands up to the abuse of the younger ones.

This game is so timeless, we all love checkers, even my five year old . This set in particular is very classy, elegant and we don't lose pieces. We love this set, it is just beautiful !!
