Heavy, sturdy, and easy to put together, July 4, 2005
This review is from: Solid Wood Outdoor Tool Storage Sheds (Kitchen)
The package came in two pieces and was considerably heavy so I would recommend a second person to help move things around. Once the pieces are taken out of the box, it's pretty easy to put together. The roof piece was the heaviest item and that adds to the sturdiness of the pieces. The shed looks good and is functional. A little small for putting a lawn mower in, but perfect for plant pots, yard tools, and other miscellaneous outdoor type items. Of the three sheds I've had (1 from Rubbermaid and 1 from Suncast), I prefer this one from Brookstone. Just wish it was a bit larger. Otherwise, it's great!

Overall a good shed for the price (minus delivery charges, of course)..., July 25, 2007

I just received this shed today, in two boxes, about 186 pounds total. I'm 37, 5"4' female, and I had absolutely no problems putting this shed together by myself. You just need a little patience and an electric drill really helps (although for a couple of screws you may need a phillips screwdriver for the deeper set-in screws). It took a couple of hours but I took my time adjusting it so that the ground was flat first. I used patio stones as a base and made sure they were level first. The roof really is the heaviest part and some folks may need help lifting this on their own (my guess is that it's about 30-35 pounds). Everything fits together very well and there is a small two-shelf system that you may not want to install because of the space it takes up. My only grudge with this shed is how the rear wall attaches to the frame - the rear wall consists of two sections that connect with dowels and wood screws and then that now single panel (made of the two panels) attaches to the frame/ rear with screws on the side and just one at the top center and one at the bottom center. Meaning if you put too much pressure on the center rear of the wall from the inside, it will bulge out a bit. Nice shed, I love the all wood, but definitely not meant to survive constant wracking. By the way, once the shed is completely put together, it's still light enough to move. It is made to sit about 1.5" above the patio stones above its base. The only advice I would add is this: make sure you have the shed set exactly flat and where you want it first. Make sure the doors are where you want them and they move freely and are positioned correctly on their hinges. After being completely sure you have the shed where you want it and as flat and level as it can possibly be, THEN put on the door latch and brackets (there are two brackets). If you try to adjust the shed AFTER the latch has been screwed on, you may find that you have to adjust the latch brackets by unscrewing and rescrewing them on in a new place. Do it too many times and you'll have way too many holes to deal with! Overall, I love the shed! I will probably add a water sealer to it just to make it last longer and maybe a few more wood screws here and there.

Best lookin' little shed :), July 8, 2007

We just helped my folks put together 3 of these (we're waiting for our one to arrive ;) ) and I have to say that they look fabulous, they have tounge in groove construction on the walls to keep out moisture and bugs, the interior is roomy (I do agree with the reviewer that noted they could be a little bigger (deeper I suspect)) and they look a heck of a lot nicer than the big plastic one we've been hiding in the back of our yard. Easy to put together, if you're strong enough, you can do it on your own, but put packages are large and heavy (be warned!) ... delivery is arranged through local freight due to size and weight so you won't have to worry about coming home to 300 pounds of shed on your doorstep! :) Great product! (if the shed was 6-10 inches deeper, it'd get 5 stars)
