This is great tool,
By Srini (Bredbury, UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: SolidWorks for Designers Release 2005 (Paperback)
Couple of years back my company bought 2003 version book from the same author and now we got this one. The books from this author are great learning tools. All my colleagues appreciate these books because we can learn a lot from them. I have a quick question for the author... you had few chapters for free downloading from your website upto 2003 version, are they still available...

Review from a CAD Coordinator,
By
This review is from: SolidWorks for Designers Release 2005 (Paperback)
I reviewed this book for a possible use in my class during this semester. I am more than satisfied that this is the right book for my class. I will be covering basic and some advanced commands in SolidWorks 2005 and all of them are explained in detail in this book. There are some additional topics in this textbook that would be more useful for the industry professionals. I hope to have a great semester teaching SolidWorks 2005 with this book and the teaching resources that come free with this book.

Design Engineer's Views,
By Martin (Stafford, UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: SolidWorks for Designers Release 2005 (Paperback)
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, I wan't to express my views about this book. "Simply excellent" is what I feel about this book. I see a great potential in this book to teach anyone Solid Works. I bet no one shall need a teacher if using this book. Designing a part to assembling it and creating detailed drawings, everything in a single book with such a clear explanation and self explanatory graphics is extremely commendable. I recommend this book to every user of Solid Works.

Well structured text,
By Susan Parker (Clifton Park) - See all my reviews
This review is from: SolidWorks for Designers Release 2005 (Paperback)
This is no doubt a very well structured text. The chapters are written keeping in mind the requirements of a novice. The facts and ideas are explained very clearly, leaving no room for errors by a person. At times it gets verbose, but I think that is what an average reader needs. The chapters start from sketching and go to modeling and assembly, followed by drafting. This is the right approach to teach a program to anyone. All in all, a very well written book and is surely a must buy.

Great book,
By James (Des Moines, IA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: SolidWorks for Designers Release 2005 (Paperback)
I would like to state that even the copy that I received has this spelling error on the spine. However, that does not take anything away from the book when it comes to the material inside. The text in this book is excellent. I would go up to the extent of saying that it is one of the best book in the market. We are using this book in our company and all my collegues share the same thought that the text and the tutorials in this book are great. This is one book that really helped us enhance our SolidWorks skills.

Great book,
By Ruby (Kingsford, Michigan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: SolidWorks for Designers Release 2005 (Paperback)
This is a "Great" book to learn SolidWOrks. It has excellent tutorials and exercises and interesting test questions at the end... The author is doing a good job to teach people SolidWorks. But someone has some personal problem with the author and so keeps writing these fake bad reviews.
A quick question for someone... whenever there is a bad review for this book, why is there a good review for another author's book? Well I could not figure out...

Best for beginners,
By pete (Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: SolidWorks for Designers Release 2005 (Paperback)
I am a new user of SolidWorks. At last there is a book that has been well written keeping a beginner in mind. The simplicity with which the topics have been illustrated is the plus point of this book. I highly recommend this book for all the beginners who want to build a strong foundation on the software.

Fulfills your learning needs,
By Phill (Blackburn, Lancashire UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: SolidWorks for Designers Release 2005 (Paperback)
This is one book that fulfills all your learning needs as far as SolidWorks 2005 is concerned. With this book in hand, you dont have to go anywhere else to look for anything so far modeling, assembly, and drafting is concerned. Author has done a great job on it.

Put your thoughts together,
By Edgar (Bloomington, IN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: SolidWorks for Designers Release 2005 (Paperback)
Let me start by saying that this is ONE OF THE BEST books on SolidWorks. It teaches you almost complete solid modeling, assembly, and drawings. The examples are those real ones that you find in your work. I WOULD STRONGLY SUGGEST that if someone has doubts about this book, you can download the free sample chapters available on the Publisher's site before ordering this book.
However, I see the same strange thing happening again which happened 2 years back. Whenever there was a good review about this book, someone writes a bad review WITHIN A FEW DAYS. It is as if someone wants to lower the sales ranking of this book. Look for yourself what happened with 2003 version of this book. But what really surprises me is that why do people do it. WHY CANT THEY HAVE OTHERS BUY A BOOK THAT THEY COULD REALLY use to learn this software.

We just love it,
By Kimi (Flushing, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: SolidWorks for Designers Release 2005 (Paperback)
This book was given to us during our update training to 2005 last year. This book has done a great job in teaching us smart tools in SolidWorks and also in getting us acquainted with the smart designing techniques in SolidWorks. Look at the way the sketches are drawn in this book, it saves so much of time... The models used in this book are simply the best. All 7 members in our team are impressed with this book and the free resources that the publisher provides on its website. We all rate this book 10 out of 10 and are sure everyone who reads it would do the same.
