Keola's latest release for George Winstons Dancing Cat Records is a wonderful, soothing, melodic trip through the Islands. There is no low point on the album, and as the songs all are of a quiet tempo with similiar feel, they flow together as a sort of Hawaiian slack guitar suite. Highly recommended! Also- if you get the chance- see Keola live. He puts on a super show.

Infused with the islands - recreates them in sound. The perfect accompaniment to a day or evening on the water. This music gently, deeply sinks in. I'm buying another as a gift for a friend so I can get mine back!

If you like guitar, you OWE it to yourself to procure this album...in its entirety. That means ALL of it people. Believe me you will thank me later...and yes, you are VERY welcome. Hey, don't mention it. There is not ONE bad song here whatsoever. Mr. Keola Beamer is a virtuoso and knows how to bare his soul on the six-string. Add some diversity to your musical collection and buy this today. With all the overproduction nowadays that often times significantly diminishes otherwise good musicianship, it is like a breath of FRESH air to just hear something instrumental for a change...acoustic and stripped down...nothing but a man letting his instrument do the talking. I wish there was more of this kind of music available...but for now we will just have to be thankful for hidden gems such as these. He also has a really good instructional book too on the craft entitled "Keola Beamer Teaches Slack Key Guitar" via Hal Leonard Publishing.

I just set the player on repeat and listen to it for hours. Soothing music. Good to pay attention to or just let it be background music. This is a good CD to have.

A beautiful album of guitar instrumentals that will just glide into your heart. Gentle, mesmerising, relaxing and achingly melodious! Beamer's technique is immaculate and he's been very nicely recorded. I'm sure John Fahey must have been inspired by this guy.

The playing is lovely, and will set a peaceful, relaxing Hawaiian tone wherever you listen to it.

I tracked this down after hearing it on NPR. Wonderful, relaxing. Talented musician. You feel like you're on the island!

This artist is well known in Hawaii and I have followed him for many years. This is a beautiful CD to have in your collection and I find it very enhancing for my mediation process.

I have loved slack key guitar for so long, but have just begun collecting the works of my favorite artists. This one is a real treasure - you cannot escape the real peace and presence of Hawai'i when you listen to Keola Beamer and his guitar. Somehow, he gives straight out of the heart and soul that is Hawai'i - you smell the sweet air, feel the gentle tradewinds and warm sand on your feet, hear the rain and gentle breezes and sea - it's all there in this recording. This is definitely music to "center down" with - to melt into a calming pool of tranquility. You will not regret adding this to your music library, I promise!

"Ka Leo O Loko" is truly lovely-- every time I hear it, I am transported to a world of tranquility and beauty. The music (which is instrumental)induces feelings of peaceful happiness-- which (for many of us, I suspect) is MUCH needed now! Nearly all the tracks are outstanding; I think there was only one piece that I thought perhaps was not quite as good. But there is a lot of music on that cd... definitely well worth it!

I do wish there was some information about the composer and/or group on the cd... but perhaps there is more info about them online.
