ROOTS-POP NOIR, December 10, 2001

McCreedy's "Shannon" and Peterson's "Just As You Are Beautiful" soar above the rest of the songs on this one, especially the dark and moody, reverb-drenched instrumentals--which are interesting soundscapes, but take some getting used to (especially if you're expecting the rootsy, somewhat-jangly pop sound of Sky and the Ocean and Up North). All in all, Solitude is a brilliant album worth buying.

Spooky, macho instrumentals and downbeat tunes for beer drinking. Lots of echo and balls and guts. Good to get drunk to. Should be law that this CD available in every bar juke.
