Masterpiece,

Turn off the lights, make yourself comfortable, really comfortable, relax, then listen. This is one of those albums that takes you places. Every time you listen it sounds (and looks) different. Amazing depths and heights, with only a solo piano or guitar. Wonderful.
Have been listening to this album for more than 15 years, enjoying it now as I did then, perhaps even more.

A superb performance by a great musician,

The Brasilian master Gismonti is arguably the finest guitarist on the planet, but technical display isn't his bag. The intelligent, unmanipulative communication of human feeling, with all it's nuances, colors and ambiguities, is what he's all about, and this is one of his best recordings. He draws deeply on the folk and classical traditions of his own country, which are considreable. Recommended.

Not only if you are a musician, or if you were born in Brasil and during your life are routinely used to hear wonderfull folk melodies, if you're looking for that kind of music that respect no frontiers and touch you right in the very soul, don't miss this album.

A window into the artist's soul,

This is one of the most intimate works of music ever made. Listening to this record has provided me countless moments of raw inspiration over 20 years. Gismonti's instrumental virtuosity doesn't get in the way of the beautiful simplicity of these works. I used to abstain from over-listening to this album....not any more.

These performances are the some of the best of the last two thousand years. Words lessen the impact, so listen to this album asap, and then forever
