5.0 out of 5 stars Yet to find a studio album to match this..., January 21, 2006

This review is from: Solo:Live (Audio CD)
For authenticity, passion, spontaneity, power, this album is the one. It's just relentless. Don't get me wrong -- it's lighthearted at times, but this album is never more than a tiny notch or two removed from the essence of the human condition.

Other reviewers have been kind to Steve Young on the studio albums; and yes, the songs are consistently great, but in my experience much is lost in the production. Here that stuff is stripped away, and it's just you and Steve Young and an understandably riveted audience -- and the songs.

Those songs -- "White Trash Song," "Seven Bridges Road," "River and the Swan" -- they don't get better than that. I could list them all. Relentlessly good.
