A master and his piano, February 20, 2003
This album was recorded in 1954, but not released until 1992.
Each tune is a small masterpiece, a man and his Steinway.
On the other hand it is so demanding listening to these tracks, something unexpected is happening all the time.
The sound quality is quite nice, not exceptional, not poor, somewhere in between. And mono (NOT stereo).
It is nice to see Garner wearing casual clothes, besides you can tell from the pictures that he enjoyed a drink and a cigarette too (most of us knew that already, at least it is now out in the open).
Erroll Garner was the master of the piano, musically this is the most demanding project he has ever dared to approach.
Listen to this and piano-playing will never be the same.

Erroll Garner's best solo performances., May 1, 1999
By A Customer
Erroll Garner is one of the most influencial jazz pianists. There are a couple of CDs which contains his solo performances, but this CD is the best of all. Erroll Garner is a walking dictionary of jazz idioms. Because of his huge jazz vocabularies, his ad'lib never becomes monotonous. He knows which phrase is the best for each situation. He is the true giants of jazz. 'click' "Click'

...like a flow of a river..., August 31, 1999

Erroll Garner's tender and sensual touch to piano keys manifests how much he loves the piano. It is only in Jazz that a performer is allowed a complete freedom of expression. Due to the poor audiences the great legend of jazz is dying. Let's keep the legend of jazz to the next generation. This CD is pretty good, isn't it?
