After a daring robbery, Rei and Gideon Quinn are recruited by their boss to recover a lost family heirloom: a letter written by St. Paul that could rewrite the history of the Church. An art preservationist, Rei begins to decipher clues in the journal, and finds that they lead to a treasure: the long lost throne of King Solomon. As they embark on a treasure hunt, following the Portuguese Spice Route through east Africa, the Middle East and into India, they must rely on letters from a long dead Jesuit priest. They must also keep one step ahead of the secret militant order that carried out the robbery and is after the same goal: the prize of a lifetime.

About the Author

Born and raised in Rockledge, Florida, Jennings spent her early years reading anything she could get her hands on, when she wasn't spending time in and on the water. She won a prize in the 6th grade for her writing. Jennings attended the University of Tampa, graduating with a B.A. in Political Science, and almost enough credits for B.A.s in both English and History. She spent time over the years doing various kinds of script doctoring, business writing, editing, and teaching writing, but mostly having and raising her family, homeschooling her children, owning and running a business with her husband, and starting a non-profit to Uganda. Thanks to a crazy idea called NaNoWriMo, Jennings got back into creative writing in 2011 and hasn't stopped since. She currently lives in North Carolina with her husband, a political writer, and two children, and travels extensively.

4.0 out of 5 stars Treasure hunt October 4, 2012
By Sharon
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was a free download for me and I found it an easy, enjoyable read. The standard 'follow the clues' treasure hunt plot was improved by interesting main characters.

I would probably tag this as a 'cozy' action/adventure novel as the storyline is all about the origin of the clues to find the treasure or the 'follow the clues' instituted by the modern day couple. A bit more travelogue than action. A combination of 'backstory' about the original artifacts and the person who is the foundation of the treasure clues and the couple who undertake to track down the clues and find the treasure keeps this from being dull.

Overall, entertaining but rather leisurely.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read for Adventure! February 4, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a great book for people who are into adventure. As well, it offered a great escape into places many of us would never dream of being able to go. The writer transports the reader to these places and offers a flavor of each culture. While I normally do not like books which go back and forth in time, this approach made perfect sense for this type of story. I can see how this could be made into a screenplay with added challenges and surprises. All in all, a good read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Breath of Life January 15, 2013
Being a minister this book was very interesting to me. But be it as it may the book was an engrossing book that keeps you on the edge all the way thru.

Author Jennings Wright has wrote an out standing book here within the pages of SOLOMON'S THRONE. The synopsis above says it better than any other words. Except I will add the characters are awesome, the writing style is action packed, loaded with suspense, clean reading, and "a treasure hunt" that makes you keep reading till the very last word. And then you want to scream for more.

I absolutely loved this book and the details that author Jennings Wright put into it. I felt as if I was on the hunt for the mystery of the journal and along with Rei and Gideon, had to make sure that every thing that could be was uncovered.

As you all must know by now though is I try not to give any thing away with my reviews. I mostly try to just keep it to where either I let you know how much I like the book. Well make sure to put SOLOMON'S THRONE on your 2013 book list as a Must Read!

So due to the above, I am giving this book a Breath of Life ratings of:

Five Clock Rating!!!

Disclosure: I did receive this book for my honest opinion and review. But the opinions are my own and yours may differ.

5.0 out of 5 stars X Marks the Spot! August 13, 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed Solomon's Throne, written by one of my high school classmates! Not only are readers treated to a treasure hunt, we are also the beneficiaries of thorough research about life in, for us, ancient times. The writer has written a story for all audiences to enjoy. As the characters were embarking on a journey for treasure, so was I, as thrilled as they were with each success along their journey. I enjoyed the characters of Rei, Gideon, and Mac, and hope to see them in future endeavors!

3.0 out of 5 stars Solomon's Throne May 21, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
3.5 stars would probably be more accurate, but I don't know how to do half stars. Solomon's Throne is the story of an ancient letter and treasure hidden and kept secret down through the generations, from the beginnings of the Catholic Church to the present day. After the letter and a journal containing clues as to the whereabouts of King Solomon's throne are stolen, Rei and Gideon Quinn are hired to recover the artifacts and locate the throne. The couple must follow clues left by a long dead Jesuit priest while avoiding monks who are tracking them in an attempt to keep the church's secret and recover the stolen letter as well.

All in all a pretty good plot and characters. I did find the suspense was a little lacking and I was unclear as to how the monks kept finding the Quinns across various continents. It was a fun read, and quick, but I felt there could have been more detail and build-up to the final resolution. I think this would be a good book for an early teen reader as there is no sex and very little violence.

Jennings Wright in her new book, "Solomon's Throne" published by Jennings Wright brings us into the lives of Rei and Gideon Quinn.

From the back cover: An impenetrable safe is breached and a secret artifact is stolen. Containing information that could change the course of the world, its desperate owner sends Gideon Quinn, his head of security, and Gideon's wife, Rei, an art preservationist, to find it at any cost. What they discover is a clue to the lost throne of King Solomon, the real object of the theft. They are thrust out on an adventure that leads them halfway around the world. Following letters left by a Jesuit in 1681, they must weave through sites along the Portuguese Spice Route, keeping ahead of a secret militant order that is determined to beat them to Solomon's Throne.

Filled with fast paced action and having broad appeal, "Solomon's Throne" is an ingenious treasure hunt adventure that sweeps the reader around the globe in a race against time.

This is the reason why people tuned in to watch "The Fugitive" for four years. He was being chased by the police while he was chasing the one-armed man. Here Gideon and Rei are trying to translate the clues which will lead them to the next one which will eventually lead them to Solomon's Throne. Meanwhile there is a secret order that wants to get the Throne for themselves and eliminate them. "Solomon's Throne" is one exciting action, adventure. Gideon and Rei are following a notebook written by an ex-Jesuit in 1687. Ms. Wright makes the story jump between what is happening with the Jesuit and what is happening now and does it seamlessly. Now the chase is on across Africa with Gideon and Rei just one step ahead of disaster.

More About the Author

I am an eclectic writer... Or maybe ADD. I can't stick to just one genre! I've written action/adventure, Christian historical romance, dystopian, and YA dystopian sci-fi. I like interesting locations and engaging characters, and whatever genre is best to tell their story... That's what I write.

I am a lifelong traveler, and am always looking for my next trip, whether near or far. I've traveled to Uganda six times in the last few year for my non-profit there, and hope that my love of Africa is reflected in the Quinn's adventures in Solomon's Throne. I also love history, and all my books have historical elements, even those set in the future.

There are many more adventures in my future -- I'll try to share them with you in my books!
