Editorial Reviews

Review

Michael Durrant"Author of "Creative Strategies for School Problems: Solutions for Psychologists and Teachers"Linda Metcalf's book is the logical next step in the solution focused brief therapy literature and, as such, is timely and most welcome....She shows how a therapeutic approach that sets out to be collaboration between clients and therapist is ideally suited to situations where clients in a group can develop therapeutic collaboration as well. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Linda offers real insight into helping people identify what they want to work on. How can they offer resistance when they offer the topic and solutions they identify? A great starting point when clients/students/staff are stuck. Based on Socratic reasoning the ideas offer a real departure from dealing with the past or issues that don't interest the client.

This appears to be a great overview of a positive and productive form of group therapy. The writing was well-done in easy-read format quite probably understandable for the layman but with enough true information to be useful for a therapist as well. The writer leaves us wanting to research further and use this technique in our own practice.

The shipping was good and it was helpful for my classes as a requirement. It was cheaper than getting it on campus.
