I purchased this cushion for my cat to have in her carrier when we drove from Texas to Florida. We went for Christmas, so I knew it would be a little chilly. This cushion, not only allowed her to be as comfortable as possible, and actually enjoy the ride, but also kept her warm. I also sprinkled cat nip on it, and she enjoyed it that much more. while we were in Florida, she stayed out on my dad's Lanai. it got a little bit chilly, but she would go sleep in her carrier, which I kept open for her to go in and out of at her will. now that we are home, I keep it in a corner of our room, and she still loves to sleep on it. I have washed it a few times, and it is still just as nice as when I purchased it. I'm so glad I purchased this item, and I don't know how long it'Ll last, I'm guessing quite a while.....but once it needs to be replaced, I'll definitely buy another one!!!!

We purchased this item to cover the top of an older kitty bed. Our two cats abolutely love it. We've had it for about 18 months, so it's seen constant use. But it's still in fantastic shape. One of our cats likes rubbing her paws on soft or textured surfaces, and she just goes crazy rubbing her paws on this cushion sometimes. As another reviewer said, we also use it to line the plastic carrier when we go on trips to the vet's office, and I definitely think it's helped to comfort them, especially since they don't like cars or the carrier!

Well, I have to say, I think the product is a great idea. I love the fabric, and if you sit on it on a cold day, it really will heat you up. Unfortunalty, I didn't buy it for myself. The problem, according to Lucy, is that it crinkles (makes noise) when you step on it, and it scares her! Pretty silly. I am hoping that in the future she will use it. If not, my mom is getting a pug puppy, and I am sure she will love it!

After reading about the "self-heating" pad, I looked at this item at the store and realized that the magic crinkly noise coming from inside the pad was just mylar sheeting, the same stuff a $2 emergency blanket is made of. It reflects nearly 90% of body heat. As I already have a regular cat pad lying around and didn't want to buy another (especially if the mylar interior goes into the wash with the pad) I just cut a square of mylar from the emergency blanket and inserted it into a fleece pillow case to see if my kitten would like laying on a crinkly pad. He enjoys the mylar sound, but also liked attacking the sheeting before I could get it inside the case. It definitely keeps him warm. I can feel the heat under his belly when he's been lying there for a while, plus I've selfishly sat on it and reaped the benefits myself. I don't think I'll open up my cat pad to insert the mylar, as it just seems better to be able to remove the sheeting when I want to give the pad or case a washing. The key is to have the mylar closest in layer to the cat's body, just below a thin soft fabric. The reflective heat is noticeable that much more quickly. So inserting it inside a dense pad doesn't seem as useful. I may place the mylar on top of the cat pad, and just add a fleece cover or the pillowcase.

The cost of the product itself is fine, if I didn't already have a cat pad lying around. And while the product does work, I don't like the idea of washing the pad with mylar inside, Seems like the aluminized coating will crinkle and wear off with each rigorous washing cycle, lessening it's effectiveness over time.

We purchased the pad for the senior cat in our house. At 14, he is the oldest of 5 - all indoors. We put it on the bed (his favorite daytime nap spot). He loves it, but so do the other four. They all try to squeeze in on it, with him, or take it over when he gets up. It's never empty! It has a bit of a "crinkly" noise but they don't seem to mind it after they try it. It seems to work great and very easy to keep clean. The patterned side can be de-furred with a few quick swipes of your hand, following the direction of the fabric nap. Good purchase and endorsed by all 5 of our cats.

I got this as the temperatures started dropping to well below 20 at night. I have an outdoor, basically feral cat, that I feed. I put this inside a round cat bed that my indoor cats don't use. It's not round, so the corners stick out a bit. So far, he has slept in it almost every night, so I know is is really warm. He doesn't seem to mind the crinkling at all. I would highly recommend it and am going to order a few more for the inside kitties.

My cat loves to sit on my lap when there's a heating pad on it, so I got one of these so she could have her own heating pad. The last time I bought my cat a cat bed she sat in it once and that was it. Not interested. She LOVES this cat cushion and sleeps on it every day. It really does warm up with her, it's like magic! I wish there was a huge cushion for me too like this. My cat is a bit older - 8 years old - and I'm guessing this is extra-good for older kitties. She gives it four paws up!

I wasn't sure about this cat cushion..it looks odd and the space age materials it's made of crinkle like saran wrap whenever you touch it. However...MY CATS LOVE IT! One of my cats hasn't left it since the day it was purchased, and the other struggles to fit herself on the remaining free corner. Amazing!

I bought four of these, two the grey leopard and two of the beige leopard. They are both attractive though I like the charcoal grey best. The fabric is soft and cozy. Seems well made. The most important thing is of course that the cats love these pillows. They are the favorite place for them to curl up. I originally wanted to get one for my outside cat to help her be warm in her little house, then thought my elderly cat would enjoy one too, and finally decided to just get one for each cat. The crinkle startled one cat at first but she got over it fast and now she is on her pillow more than any other spot. It cuts down on the fur on the furniture as they prefer the pillows. Though for cats, a small dog would enjoy it also. I recommend them, the price on Amazon was better than the pet store too. I even decided to buy the larger version for the dog I take to work with me too, so she has a cozy spot to sleep in my office.

When I saw these self-warming thermal cat cushions, I was so excited. We have two outdoor cats and I thought this would be so neat to keep them warm in the winter. I ordered two. My cats were terrified of them because of the crinkling like noise they made every time one of the cats tried to approach them. We could not believe that anyone that knows anything about cats would not realize that cats or other animals would not fear a strange noise. We wanted them to work so badly but the cats would walk way around them to avoid them. We put one of the cats directly on the cushion hoping to persuade him. He fleed in terror. We just packaged it back up and sent it back. If you buy one of these self-warming cat cushions, please be aware that it is quite noisy!
