I have suffered from interstitial cystitis for eight years. I thought I had tried everything, acupuncture and herbs, long term antibiotics, Elmiron, even narcotics. I was so desperate I tried the Interstim, but got an infection. The thought had crossed my mind to even have my bladder removed. I admit there were times I felt so discouraged I even contemplated leaving this planet...I can't tell you how many different doctors and urologists I have seen. A friend with IC in a support group recommended this book and finally, after all these years I am starting to get my life back. Amrit Willis is right, you can heal IC. After reading this book, I started with her suggestions and after a couple of weeks I was only getting up once at night to use the bathroom instead of my usual 6 or 8 times. I started her alkalizing approach and worked on my allergies first as she recommends. My bladder pain has gone from an excrutiating level to barely noticable. It is so incredible. And there are so many other steps in her book I have not even done yet. Best of all her approach is natural. For anyone who feels like I did, that there is no hope, buy this book, it will change your life. Thanks to her chapter on sex, my husband and I are thrilled since our sex life is the best it has been in our 10 years of marriage. It is like a second honeymoon. I agree, Amrit is a God send. Thank you Amrit for writing this book.

I have ordered and read this book...diet and lifestyle changes really do make a world of difference! Amrit gives lots of valuable information, so much I cannot even list it all here! The IC diet that doctors prescribe do not eliminate all the foods which irritate the IC patient. Try Amrit's program...eventually, you'll be able to add other foods back into your diet. But one thing is for certain--once you start feeling so much better, you won't go back to your old eating habits, anyway. This is not a quick fix, as chronic illness takes 1-3 years to recover from, on average...but people do get there! And Amrit is incredibly accessible on her support site...she actually answers e-mails, and for a reasonable fee, you can set up phone consultations with her! Thank you, Amrit...this book was one of the answers to my prayers.--Miranda

Amrit Willis' tale and method of curing herself from IC is amazing, and makes so much sense. I have used the diet and some of the recommendations and have also not had any symptoms of IC since starting the alkaline diet. My dietician and doctor were impressed and have also ordered the book. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to read this!!

This book is called Solving the Interstitial Cystitis Puzzle, but the subtitle tells a better story: A Guide to Natural Healing. That's what this is. Not simply an IC book, this contains much helpful information for many chronic conditions and "-itises." While this book can help those with "-itises," it also provides common-sense guidance to help to prevent these issues. Better safe than sorry.

If you don't think you need this info now, buy it for a friend. You might be borrowing it back sooner than you think. I hope Amrit decides to write a book directed toward the general audience. I'll be first in line to snap up a copy!

amrit willis knows more about interstitial cystitis than any other author around. i have read so many books on ic but only amrit's book has given me any lasting relief. i found out about her book on her support site but reading it really brings things together.

i only just got the book and haven't wanted to put it down. i seriously considered taking the day off of work just so i could finish the book without interruption.

if you only get one book on ic this should be the one. amrit is a goddess

This book just arrived today, but I had already started the programme from the website. I had heard about this book on the IC-Network, and rushed to buy at as quickly as possible. I have not felt well in over 4 years, but I feel normal again. I recommend this book highly.

This book is not just for sufferers of interstitial cystitis. It is really for anyone interested in a living healthy lifestyle.

Read this book! This is the book that gave me the information I needed to heal myself. In fact, I am now HAPPY that I got IC because now I understand the mistakes I was making that lead to the IC in the first place, and I have altered my lifestyle to avoid more serious health problems in the future! I can't recommend this book enthusiastically enough. Before you put agree to those harsh treatments your doctor may have suggested, do yourself a favor and read this book. I am writing this without pain thanks to Amrit Willis and her IC buddies. Thank you!

I have just started reading this book and I already have all the confidence and faith that by following the advice in this book, my future will be both IC-free and healthier than ever !
It is packed with explanation about the causes of IC, the effects of imbalance between alkaline and acid in the body, tips in the events of flares, lists of food to avoid/to eat, list of minerals, recipes,etc...the author explains how it is essential to retrieve a balance between alkaline and acid in the body, but is careful not to scare the reader. This book gives hope and confidence that we can get rid off IC and teaches us how to protect our precious health in the long-term too! (and protect the health of our loved ones too!)

If you suffer from IC, or know someone who does, then this is the book to get!

This book has many ideas to improve IC symptoms, but they are all natural and I haven't had much luck with them but do believe it's worth a try. The author is a nurse and former sufferer of IC, co-wrote w/ a doctor, Yoga instructor and other experts on IC. She has done extensive research. For example, antihistamines were recommended for IC but I never knew why. She explains how food allergies can cause havoc on the bladder. I have found other sources to collaborate food allergies can cause other medical problems as well.

Basically she states what we consume is too acidic which disturbs the lining of the bladder. She charts good and bad foods as well as good and bad habits that contribute to IC (example: Smoking=BAD, Massage=GOOD).

If you're interested in relief read, "The Interstitial Cystitis Survival Guide: Your Guide to the Latest Treatment Options and Coping Strategies". Once you have your IC at a tolerable level you should learn about the natural alternatives in this book.

I have followed the basic "High Ph" philosophy in this book and took Elmiron and was nearly symptom free for nearly 3 yrs till I just had a recent flare after drinking Carnival Cruise water.
