I got my Track'r Large Bike Trailer today, and had it set up and ready to roll in about 10 minutes. As I was was assembling it , which only amounts to attaching the hitch to the rear axle of my bike, snapping the wheels into place and placing a crossbeam in the top rear and tightening, I noticed that it was built very well, and the quality was surprising considering the price. I have a Recumbent bicycle which has 20" wheels and there was some concern that this product might not work with my bike. I called the manufacturer ( Solvit Products), prior to ordering it, and the technical person I spoke to assured me that it would work with my bike, which it did.

I installed the mount on my bike in about 2 minutes and I was ready to attach the trailer to the bike. Before I did this, I made my dog comfortable about getting in the trailer by giving her some treats when I called her to jump in. Withing about 5 minutes, she would jump in the trailer on command. Now I hooked it up to the bike, got her inside, zipped the rear closed and attached the strap that is provided to her harness, and off we went. I stopped after a few minutes, and Smokey looked like she was really enjoying the ride. I just rode around the parking lots in my condo complex in order to get used to pulling the trailer, get my dog used to riding in it, and to make sure everything was working properly and safely.

The only negative I noticed at first is that it was a bit hard to tow. My dog weighs 45 pounds, so I expected an increase in effort, but this seemed unusual. I stopped, and realized that in my haste to get going, I forgot to put air in the tires. They were almost flat. I pumped them up to the specified 50 PSI, and got back on , and now we were sailing along.

We received this bike trailer yesterday and we were very impressed with how easy it is to set up. I bought the kit to convert it so we can push our dog in it. We have a 75 lb golden retriever who has osteosarcoma (bone cancer)
in her front leg and is not able to walk for any great distance so this was
just what we needed to take her for those long walks she has always loved.
The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the bottom of this trailer is not very stable/sturdy. When she got in it she got very scared because of how warbly it was. My husband will put some kind of board underneath it to stabilize that for her and hopefully this will ease her fear. Other than that we really like it and look forward to many miles of walking with her in it.

this is a great cart.

.. very well made. strong durable construction.
.. very large. holds my 92 lb "Bear" and my 120 lb girlfriend.
.. mounts to bike very easily and pulls very smoothly.
.. nice to have the extra pockets to put leash and dogbowl.
.. in an effort to "go green" we ride our bikes to the grocery store and use this cart to haul the groceries back with us. works amazing for this too.

.. one thing everyone should take into play when purchasing any cart would be your dog. consider if your dog will actually go into this thing. this particular cart is very sturdy but a dog that won't enter a kennell cage won't ever consider a cart ride.

overall very nice product. would buy again.

We ordered this trailer because of product reviews and that most we looked at in person were pretty much junk although they did cost a lot less. We received the item missing an axle bolt and one of the axle welds is bad. The weld has already started cracking and while the axle bolt is an odd length I managed to make a replacement part. I don't want to send the thing back because it's a good sized box so I'll probably fix the weld too....but I shouldn't have to do that.

Also, the tires are pretty bad. They almost look and feel like plastic and the smell is terrible. They don't smell like normal rubber tires. They actually smell like gasoline which tells me that the cheap plastic look is appropriate because it's a lousy tire.

For the price quality should be better and God forbid, would it kill a company to actually make something in the US...or at least North America? At the price I didn't expect the same lower quality we were seeing in person (but for less money). Really tired of all the low grade Chinese made goods.

I acquired this trailer to carry my sick Labrador who can no longer walk long distances on his own. The trailer is easy to assemble and the allen wrench (but not metric open-end wrench or socket for nuts) is included in the kit for the allen socket headed bolts. The wheels snap in place onto the bolted-on axle assemblies and the wheels can be easily removed for cart break-down and transport by car to some remote site. The frame is an aluminum welded assembly and most if not all of the trailer is made in China. My only complaint about the cart is that the plastic screens which are sewn on from the inside have about one-half inch of exposed raw screen edge protruding beyond the the sewn edge. I guess one could trim this back exposed edge if so desired. The dog rests inside on a free-floating plastic fabric covered pad which rests on the trailer fabric bottom. I prefer to cover the pad with a cloth to keep the pad clean. There is an adjustable-length strap inside to constrain your dog to the trailer. The plastic fabric I mention here is tough and durable, like the type you find in modern tents and canopies.

The (included) bike trailer attachment fitting is through-bolted to the bike rear axle. There is a fabric strap that you wrap around the bike frame and back to the trailer hitch and latch in place as a secondary safety attachment device. The trailer hitch is pinned to the bike fitting by a steel pin with a retainer clip. The trailer stays planer with the road via a torsion spring built into the hitch assembly which allows the bike rider to lean into turns.

The trailer is light and rolls easily along paved smooth surfaces which makes it a joy to bring my "buddy" along with me on a good workout for me and it allows him to revisit the neighborhood he can no longer visit on his own four legs.
