I purchased the medium stroller (red) for use with my dogs.

I have Border Terriers (17-21 lbs.). My older one is 14 and loves to come on walks but is not necessarily up for long walks anymore. My 2nd BT is 10 years old and is very fit but injured himself playing ball during July 2009 and I needed to limit the length of the walks for him.

I had purchased the stroller shortly after this for use with both boys.

The stroller works great. The setup of my condo means I have to collapse it going through my sliding door to my patio but it has no issue through my front door.

The main frame and structure of the stroller seem fine and are held together with a series of bolts, washers and locking nuts. I would periodically check these for coming loose. I had not done that and found that after a month and a half of regular use, they came apart. Two came loose but I have all of the parts.

The big issue with the nuts coming undone was that it put too much stress on the stroller support bar and the plastic piece on one end broke in half. I have emailed Solvit for replacement parts and will await their response.

I still believe this product is worth it, but with anything that undergoes regular use and stress, you need to check it for maintenance.

One item that I do not believe is work installing is the brake. This worked for two days and after that could not stay tight enough against the tires to work. Grass is a better braking spot than the installed brake on this stroller.

I use this stroller for my cats and they get some curious stares and uproarious laughter during my walks when other walkers see that it is a cat inside!
Solvit offers a very good design and a well built stroller. It is easy to push and steer. The large tires make the ride smooth in comparision to those other buggies with the tiny wheeled baby stroller design. It requires minimal assembly which is easy to do.
Contrary to some reviews here, I had no rust or peeling paint on the frame. If I did have a problem I would simply exchange it for a new one.
This stroller is a bit pricey but I feel it is worth the money. I got mine in the "warehouse deals" section of Amazon, and it was slightly discounted due to the box being an "open item" with tears in the box. There was NO damage to the stroller and I am VERY PLEASED with this buggy and with Amazon.
If you are a regular walker and are looking for a sturdy buggy for your pet, this one is a good bet.

We used this for our annual trip to the Oregon Coast - our old cocker just can't handle the long beach walks anymore - she loved the stroller and so did we. Very easy to push around, lots of room for storasge of all kinds of stuff, and a big hit with everyone else who saw us using it.

I read a lot of reviews and decided on this product...like all products it had a couple of soso reviews, but the majority were good so I went for it. I believe it was easy to put together and made of quality materials. My one dog had gotten older and sick and couldn't keep up with the other dog and pooped out quick, so I bought this stroller so he could still be a part of the family on walks. The stroller was great on uneven pavement and debirs in the road, made great turns, easy up and down for curbs, and had plenty of room for my dog and pockets to put my stuff. Many people stopped me and wanted to know where they could get one because the strollers they had purchased were not very durable. I would recommend this to anyone who was thinking of buying a stroller.

I show dogs for a hobby so I purchased the stroller for transportation and containment of my dogs while I am at a dog show. I utilize all of the handy compartments on the outside of the stroller. The interior of the stroller is roomy and has a thick comfortable pad for the dogs to sit on. The dogs enjoy being able to see out of the stroller in all directions. This stroller is very easy to maneuver because the front wheel can either swivel or lock into one position. The wheels have air like a bike tire so the ride is smooth. The back wheel has a brake to keep the stroller from moving when stationary. The stroller is a perfect size and close to the ground so the dogs can get in and out of the back door easily. The removable handle is a little wobbely. My husband made an adjustment to make a tighter fit. The wheels sometimes rub on the outside of the stroller when the dog leans against the inside of the stroller (it would be nice to have an extra layer of fabric to protect that area). It does not fold into a small package like a baby stroller. When the stroller is in the compact mode the wheels are loose. I am pleased with the product and would highly recommend this item for purchase.

Our dog recently had surgery on her leg, and she has to stay off it for 6 weeks, so we thought it would be great to be able to take her out in this stroller. Boy did we pick the wrong one.

As I was taking it out of the box, I noticed that the paint on the frame was flaking off and the metal underneath was rusted. Straight out of the box. It seemed like it was solid, so we kept going. I looked for the documentation on how to put it together. There was a folded piece of paper with very little direction, but said that it would take 20-30 minutes to assemble. After I got the stroller out, though, I noticed there were some pieces in the bottom of the box. A couple washers and some sort of small cap looking thing (more on that soon). We took the rest of the pieces out and started looking at how to get it put together. Also, I'd like to note that the whole thing smells pretty bad - rubber/paint smell. You'd want to let it air out a bit before confining your dog inside it. When we started putting the main wheels on it, we found out that one of the latch/release mechanisms was what the "extra pieces" were in the box. One of the wheels had the latch mechanism in place. The other had fallen apart, apparently, but not all the pieces (a spring) were present in the box. At this point we gave up on it, but I wanted to try to put the front wheel on it. I slid the metal front wheel mount onto the main frame and the paint that I had noticed flaking before went flying off as the piece slid on. Wow! We put it back in the box and it's going back to Amazon as soon as we possibly can.

I highly recommend you stay away.

-- In the interest of fairness: It seems like it was well designed, and the base frame is solid, but then it's as if they sent it somewhere else with no quality control at all for final paint and assembly. Just absolute crap.

i bought this pet stroller to take my two dogs to the park. On hot summer days it's hard for them to walk on the steaming pavement. I also often foster dogs with disabilities so it's very useful when i take them to/from the vet who is located about 10 blocks from me. You'll need a lot of patience to assemble this product. I'm usually handy but this tested my patience. I am still not sure if it's assembled properly. The whole thing smells very strongly. It took about 2 weeks for the smell to fade. This is the perfect size to hold my two dogs (1 is a small beagle about 25lbs and another a big chihuahua mix about 13 lbs). One thing you should consider is that this product it's not easy to disassemble for storage. So I don't bother after each use. It takes a lot of room as the front wheel sticks out. Overall, I'm satisfied with it and the big wheels provides a smooth ride. My pets are comfortable in it. The pockets, cup holder are handy. One thing that i wish the manufacture would consider is to provide an adaptor so this could be hooked up to a bicycle. Price wise it's about right and I like that this stroller looks nothing like a baby stroller. Just something utilitarian and sturdy to carry your pets around.

We love this pet stroller! Our 10-year old corgi can't walk as far as she used to, but this stroller keeps us all together. It packs up easily and allows us to take our dog everywhere. It is great exercise for all of us.

It took us about 20 minutes to put the stroller together and it is very well constructed. It stands up to the abuse of bumpy sidewalks and still provides a smooth ride for our dog.
