I have had these steps now for almost a year. I bought them thru Amazon and actually paid a little more for them then than they are now so that makes them an even better deal now.
They are sturdy, well built, easy to clean and a snap to fold and store. Some people said that they found them to be wobbly or that their pet slipped off the side - That might be true if you can only use them in the direction they are shown in the picture however I turned them sideways so that one side of the bed was on the long side of the steps and my 8 lb dog and 13 lb older cat have no problem using them. Unless they have changed them since I bought mine, I was very impressed with how stable they are.

I purchased this because our Rat Terrier likes to get up on the bed. Still fairly young, he has no problem jumping up two feet of matress and bed frame but I've noticed he limps occasionally when jumping down. Unfortunately the steps are small with a very steep incline so the little dog ends up carefully stepping down until he reaches a tipping point. Once gravity wins, he has to try running but the small but deep steps make a smooth return to floor level into a clumsy descent that crosses the borderline between comedy and potential injury.
Built out of the same material as most garbage cans, the too small and too thin pads are completely useless. The tiny rubber no-slip rubber feet work well enough until they fall off under the unimaginable stress brought by a 12 pound dog tumbling down the steps. After a brief inspection of the feet I also noticed that every time you extend the legs, the plastic is being bent severly by two round plastic bits that seem to function as a lock of some sort. Other than that, fine product.

I bought this for my two Poodle/Shiu Tzu 20-25 lb. pets to climb onto the very tall family member's bed. Naturally, I had to put their paws on it step by step a few times to get them used to it.
One was only slightly afraid of it at first & still goes slowly up it, but now he only needs a single simple verbal prodding (he tends to be lazy & want to be picked up.) He uses it to go down as well as he has shorter legs & the jump down must bother him enough to use it. The one who was terrified at first, she now races up it like it's nothing, but has longer, springy legs & does not need it to jump off. It feels like it's barely a pound in weight & does move easily when pushed by a human, the leverage is great & center of gravity is nice & low to keep it stable. It comes w/eight carpet-like sticky treads you see, four for now & four for future replacement. The "button" to lock it in place & push to close/fold is more a cheap latch that's part of the structure that sticks out. It says locked & you have to press very hard to close/fold it again. For the price & convenience of something foldable & lightweight, it's great. Edit: it's January '09 & still working fine, though we have never folded it. It is on a wood floor & will scoot a little when he would literally leap from the 2nd step instead of going all the way up, but does not with a small hop from the top. He still doesn't want to use it, but it's more that he likes being picked up/spoiled then mistrust. He goes up it when told to on his own totally, slow & most times now he just takes a big step to get on the bed from the top.

Our old chihuahua loves to cuddle but is too small to jump onto the couch/bed. The Solvit PupStep offered a cheap and practical solution. The stairs are sturdy despite being plastic, they can be folded up, and the dog had no trouble learning how to use them. A great product!

I'm really happy with these stairs! My cat is 21 and has arthritis. She's just recently started having trouble getting up on my bed. At first I was worried about her even using them, but with a little bit of a tuna bribe she went up the stairs just fine. (A little side-note: she doesn't seem to be all that crazy about going down them, but time will tell.)
I was concerned about what kind of quality I'd be getting from the steps b/c they're pretty much the cheapest pair of its height. After having used them I have to say they are GREAT. The stairs are sturdy and as I mention before my cat has been using them. Definitely worth the money. I don't see any advantage in spending a ton on stairs when you can get these for $35!

These are great, they're real stable instead of the soft foam steps, although those are nice also. My dog loves these steps, thanks! :o)

We bought these steps to help our Malti-Poo get on the bed after having knee surgery on both knees. It took some coaxing (treats)to get him to go up, but he healed and is still using the steps. Now, he loves to run up them and jump on our other dog. We bought a second set so he could get into his favorite lounger, too. These are solid and the stair treads make him feel secure. I don't regret my purchase, and would gladly buy them again, if needed.
9/15/08 These steps are still like new, and he uses them every day. Also keeps him from messing up his back by jumping off the bed.

I purchased these steps for my Cavalier King Charles to get on the bed. It only took a couple of trys with treats to get her to go up and down them and now she runs up and down the steps. They are also very easy to store as they fold up. I would recommend these steps to anyone with a small pet.

DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!!!,
This review is from: Solvit PupSTEP Plus Pet Stairs (Misc.)
It is NOT sturdy at all. If your dog is 5 pounds or less it might be ok, but my dog is 12 pounds and she won't even go up it because it moves when she tries to.
