An excellent CD for relaxation work with medical patients.,

We have used this CD as background music for healing sessions with our cancer patients. Physicians and patients alike have commented on the positive effects SOMA has had on them during Reiki sessions in the cancer program at a major hospital in the D.C. area. In addition we are now using it as part of Pastoral Care's monthly hands-on healing service, for it induces a profound state of relaxation, and sense of well-being.

Great relaxation aide,
This review is from: Soma: Experience in Psychoacoustic Healing (Audio CD)
Typically I meditate either in silence or with some soft instrumental music. This CD is not just music- it is engineered by its creator, Tom Kenyon, to help foster the listener's brain deep into a relaxed state using electronic tones along with the music. Most times using this CD, I experience a very deep state of waking dreams, slow breath, etc. Sometimes it seems time has ceased to exist: that I was suspended in another reality and cradled in sound. Always I finish feeling more centered and able to focus, similar to meditation. I would recommend this CD to anyone who is curious about the benefits of meditation but does not know where to begin. Simply buy this CD, set aside 20 minutes, and listen. I guarantee you will notice the benefit!

SOMA,

When I first received this music, I could not stop listening to it. At one point I felt a bit concerrned about it because I became lost in the theta state and had trouble funtioning. Then finally I had enough and stopped listening so much. I found some major changes in myself. It is as if it had somehow erased a structure within me that was too rigid. Along with the structure, there seemed to be some temporary long term memory loss. I highly recommend this music, but please don't drige while listening.

Psychoacoustic Healing,

The last word in the title of this CD is "healing". I don't know why this is omitted in description. The recording is gently powerful and brings out the deepest feeling. It clears the mind - what is important will surface - I find it a great emotional release. I had no idea a sound recording could be so powerful. I highly recommend it!

Relaxation to the Heights!,

This review is from: Soma: Experience in Psychoacoustic Healing (Audio CD)
I will never tire of this CD. I play it for prayer time, relaxation before retiring at night and whenever I just need calm, peace, tranquility and quiet. This CD has a haunting way of taking you into another state of mind and helps to release any tension. The chants of the monks lulls you to the above places and to your deep center. The background music is a marvelous mind alter-er that soothes you. This CD lives up to its subtitle: psycho-acoustic healing! Take it to your massage therapist to play while you relax! Outstanding!

Excellent,

The first time I meditated with this CD, I had the best meditation that I have ever experienced. I seemed to go to a level where external noises and extraneous thoughts just didn't register. My meditation group now uses this CD regularly with powerful results for everyone involved. We are all in agreement that the second part, the chant to Amakua, is the best.

As a massage therapist, I am always looking for music. Preferrably music without words. This cd takes hold of my clients. I've tried it with different client 'types' .....excellent reviews.

Wife and I have loved this for over a year.,
This review is from: Soma: Experience in Psychoacoustic Healing (Audio CD)
My wife and I listen to this during the night. If one of us wake up we press the play button and we're back to sleep in no time. It's also awesome to meditate to. I've had some training in using music for healing and over the years I've heard nothing I love so much and never tire of hearing.

Words can not explain the effect this CD has on emotional and physical being. Although deep states of relaxation are attained at 2nd and 3rd tracks, the first track seems to prepare the way.

After reading the other reviews I was very exceited to get this CD. However, I had none of the experiences others noted. In fact, I found some of the vocals very depressing - wailing sounds of someone in a lot of emotional pain. The last song is good, and that is why I gave it 3 stars. The last song has what I believe are whale sounds and good vibrational tones to which my body responded.
