The tips broke off of mine after about the 3rd use. The only reason I gave them a 2 star review instead of a 1 star review is because at least they lasted that long.

Used these one time and plastic tip on the lever side broke off while changing tire, steel core remained but not very useful afterward.

It you are like me and break tire levers changing tires, then this product is for you. The steel core adds enough regidity to keep the lever from breaking.

Great tire levers! They are strong, stiff and I don't think they will break like the plastic ones. They were priced right too. Great addition to your saddle bag tools. Highly recommend these to anyone that does their own maintenance on their bikes which would include changing tires/tubes.

These are some of the best tire levers I've found. They have thin tips for getting in between really tight tires and rim, as well as strong hooks to hold on to a spoke while you work the tire off the rim.

I already owned a set of the Soma Steel Core tire levers before, so knowing how good they are and having plastic ones fail I ordered another set for another seat bag. Today's tires and rims are becoming more difficult to take off and on, and plastic levers aren't up to the task a lot of the times. You don't want to use a plain steel lever because steel is harder than aluminum or carbon fiber and you take a huge chance on gouging a rim, but these are covered in a thick plastic so they can't gouge the rim, and the steel core keeps the lever from snapping.

If you want the best tire levers, these are it. Combine those levers with a QuikStik and you have a very fast way to remove tires. QuikStik can be used by itself but some tires and rims don't have enough space to squeeze the QuikStik between, instead you use two Soma Steel Core tire levers to get the first section done and lock the levers opposite end hook around two adjacent spokes, insert the QuikStik between the space of the tire and rim that the two levers created, pull one of the levers out, then simply slide the QuikStik around the rim and the other lever will just fall off. Do it right and you can have a tire off in 10 to 15 seconds.

Don't get stuck from home because your plastic levers broke, buy these Soma Steel Core levers and never worry about that happening again.
