This is the real deal! The author was there.
You may have even heard or seen the author on TV, the radio, and newspapers. His book is both witty and real. You won't believe that you are actually laughing at the conditions of war! But it is real.
Great for someone going into the service. This shows what it is like to live in the service.
This book also portrays a different view of the people and children of Mogadishu. Sad how these children have to live. It is sad about the animals too, not that animals rank higher than human life.
This is a true story and it tells it like it was.
This book is also excellent for the x service person. They know what they lived through and can relate to this story.
Yes the movie was great and so is the book Black Hawk Down, but that is Hollywood's version, although the author of this book did try to help them correct/clarify some of the errors/descrepancies in the book/movie.

I didn't buy this book. My mom is freinds with the guys brother. He gave it to her and I saw it sitting around and picked it up and started reading.. Was so intrested in it I had to put the cover back on my Stephan King "From a Buick 8" book and finish this one. I've never been in the service and never plan on going but this is a great book for everyone!
