The more creamy Sombra gel in the container is lemony colored and is easy to apply. If you get this on your hands, wash them well afterwards because this has "Capsaicin" in it and that could burn your eyes if you touched them soon after using this cream.

It also comes in a thinner gel in a roll-on bottle, and that is more useful for use on your back, around joints or on any part of the body where pain is being experienced.

Within a few minutes you will notice the pain decreasing rapidly. I could not feel any pain after using this product and can highly recommend this for sports injuries, arthritis and any general discomfort. This has been working especially well while I await my new office chair. Sitting in a regular chair has shown me why office chairs were created.

So, to choose between the Roll-on Sombra gel and the Sombra gel in a container seems impossible. They both have very good uses, but more caution is required with this product in a container.

You will notice a cooling sensation similar to aloe vera or menthol. Then later you will feel warmth. It could happen hours later...you will suddenly feel a slight warming and wonder why. Then you will remember you used this product. So, it is very long lasting and penetrates deeply into the body for sustained pain relief.

Originally bought a jar of Sombra Gel from my Chiropractor for over $30! Was definitely skeptical at first, but joint pain was crippling me. After one use the initial chill was amazing (use sparingly)! The intense heat it packs after only a few minutes of application really makes a WORLD of difference in how my knees and elbows feel.

The scent is pleasing and really helps to clear a stuffy nose or sooth a bothersome cough, which is an added bonus. I have used it on my partner when we ran out of vapo-rub and he was amazed at how well it let him breathe that night and get a good nights sleep!

If you want a great natural alternative to vapo-rubs and chemical-laden pain cremes & gels, THIS is the ONLY gel you'll ever need!!!

I HIGHLY recommend buying it from here versus going to a health-care professional and paying the markup. The savings is incredible. I got three 8 oz jars for the price of what ONE cost me at my health-care professional's office!

WASH HANDS WELL AFTER ANY APPLICATION! A simple rinse under the faucet won't cut it, rub those hands together with some soap and dry well to avoid touching your eyes or other "parts" with any of this stuff still lingering on your fingers. TRUST ME!!!

I've been using Sombra for quite some time now and have found few similar items that can compare.

I've used the typical over-the-counter stuff like Icy Hot and Ben Gay along with more specialized items like Biofreeze. But among these, Sombra is clearly the best. Why you may ask, well:

1.It doesn't have that less than pleasant artificial hospital-like scent. Instead, it has a very pleasing and mild floral scent that is OK for even the most sensitive noses.

2.It's natural and doesn't come with all the added chemicals of the others.

3.It's affordable.

4.It works quickly and generally without any uncomfortable stinging sensations.

I've only found one product better but unlike Sombra, it can cause allergic reactions in some people.

I'd recommend this to anyone.

I have osteoarthritis and have pain in my knees, lower back, and hands/fingers. I had one of my knees replaced this summer. I have been using Biofreeze which works very well. I typically stay away from topical pain relievers that contain capsaicin as it irritates my skin a bit too much (although I do occasionally use Capzasin No-Mess applicator to dab on my finger joints to good effect). Well, Sombra does not irritate my skin even though it contains capsaicin. The product label does not indicate the strength of the capsaicin in Sombra, but my guess would be that it is a lower level of concentration than a purely capsaicin based product. So you get the nice menthol cooling effect, with a bit of heating effect from the capsaicin. The great thing is that the heating effect never gets too intense or feels like it is burning on my skin. So I use Sombra or Biofreeze (depending on whether I want a heating effect at a given time) and get good temporary relief for some of the pain that I have. Not a cure, but certainly welcome relief.

Of all the pain relieving gels, creams and lotions on the market, Sombra has been proven to be the most effective in my case. It not only relieves the pain and inflammation at the area, it lasts much longer than your typical products. It is non-greasy and doesn't bother my hands after application. In fact, instead of trying to wash the product off (which is much easier not having an oil base) I just rub my hands together and benefit from the products ability as I also have arthritis in my fingers. I would highly recommend this product to others.

This is the second time I have bought this, and I will not be without it. I use it daily on my arthritic knee and on other aches and pains as needed. You can feel it work as soon as it is applied. Great price for something that works this well.

I had a back injury last year. I went to Physical therapy and then had someone use the Sombra warming/cooling cream on my back. Its just amazing because you feel instant results. But without the after smell and greasiness like other products leave behind. I have tried them all and its long lasting and really works!!

This product is very good when one has a sore muscle or arthritic joints. You just have to be careful to wash it off your hands so you don't get it in your eyes.

It's the best stuff on the market. I can't live with fibromyalgia without it.

My husband got a jar of Sombra Gel from his chiropractor when he had an auto accident. He offered it to me when I hurt my wrist the day before my vacation to Taiwan. It worked like a miracle. Of course, it wasn't cheap coming from the chiropractor. When I found out that it was available through Amazon, I ordered some more.
