4.0 out of 5 stars Underrated -> serious p-funk
This is the last serious p-funk album. Yes, GC uses eighties drum machines and synthesizers, but p-funk always changed with the times. On this album GC collaborated with Steve Washington (of funk band Slave), Doug Wimbish and Thomas Dolby. And GC's brand of eighties music sounds nothing like anything else around at the time. Vocally GC's on top of his game. He could still...

On this album GC collaborated with Steve Washington (of funk band Slave), Doug Wimbish and Thomas Dolby. And GC's brand of eighties music sounds nothing like anything else around at the time. 3.0 out of 5 stars A wonder, November 3, 2009
This review is from: Some of My Best Jokes Are Friends (Audio CD)
One has to wonder what Clinton was thinking at this point. Interest in his classic work was at an all time high at this time. But instead of making a serious P funk album he made an eighties urban pop album. All the songs sound like the the product of some serious all night coke binges. There are a few intersting parts on this disc but over all it falls way short. Even by latter day Clinton standards. This is a weak effort.
