5.0 out of 5 stars Pop Perfection!!!, July 15, 2004
This review is from: Some Girls (Audio CD)
Some Girls is definately one of the best pop songs in recent memory! If you like songs like "Toxic" and "The Show" there is no way you will not like this it has a great beat and catchy lyrics Plus its made by mega producer Richard X and all the proceeds go to the Sport Relief Charity.
The Songs:
1. Some Girls - Great Song for all the reasons I stated above. 10/10
2. Spin That Bottle - Really sexy song, not as good as "Some Girls" but still a very good track. Worth a listen.
8/10

3. Some Girls (The Sharp Boys Hot Fridge Vocal Mix) - Good remix, but a little long.
8/10
4. Some Girls (Video) - Whats better then the song, the video! great!!
10/10
All in all get this single if not for "Some Girls" get the EXCLUSIVE track "Spin That Bottle" which was not included on the album "Funky Dory" or the re-release which happens to come out July 26, 2004.
Get This!!! Get This!!! Get This!!!

Rachel Stevens, ex-member of the successful S Club 7 (Later S Club), is definitely taking the UK charts by storm. Her latest single, Some Girls is her best yet. With her sexy vocals and great dance moves, Stevens'Some Girls has a very 80's sound with a modern twist in it. It is definitely a great song. The CD-Single also comes with 2 extra tracks. Spin That Bottle is another sensuous song which has an air of Britney Spears to it (just much better)...very sexy! The remix of Some Girls is definitely a track that will get your booty shakin' and your toes movin'. The CD also contains the Some Girls video which features a few cameos of British celebrities that some Americans may not recognize. Either way, this is definitely a great buy. Look for the US release of Funky Dory, Rachel's debut album, on September 21st. She's bound to be a hit here in the states! 2 Thumbs up for Rachel and 5 stars for this CD!

5.0 out of 5 stars Some Girls, August 13, 2006
By

This review is from: Some Girls (Audio CD)
Richard X compiles this project, a glam-meets-electro mesh of basically most of the sounds heard on Goldfrapp's single "Strict Machine", and presents it to Rachel Stevens. To which she replies, "Sure, why the bugger not?", knowing all too well that her swiftly sinking ride at post-S Club stardom depends entirely on this track. Quite a track to gamble your career on, because it's possibly one of the most bizarre and unfriendly-for-radio tunes in recent memory. The gamble worked, and Stevens got an extra fifteen minutes (or maybe five) to dish out two more top 10 singles before falling right back on the cracks. Still, "Some Girls" was the turning point for Stevens, the moment she realized that we were no longer interested in white ladies hawking faux-R&B, so here she is joining Gwen Stefani, Girls Aloud et al in reviving good old spangly electro-pop. And the sparking of that trend is worth the purchase of this single alone.
