5.0 out of 5 stars I think I'll fly, October 16, 2005
This review is from: Some Kind of Bird (Audio CD)
"Over and over I run on this treadmill
Chasing a target that`s moving too fast.
Dreaming of soaring of blue skies above me.
Reaching, I touch only glass.
But there's no stairway here to climb.
No other way up, I think I'll fly."

Stacy Robin draws on world influences to create unique spirals of sound infused with creative lyrics. Her message is positive and she explores dreams, success in relationships and a variety of concepts we can all relate to including the loss of someone we love and how we value true friendship.

"Cry for me now
You've been a friend to the end.
Cry for me now
Just lay your heart in my hands
And tear my blue sky down."

Stacy Robin has a talent for contrast. In some of her songs she is deeply sultry and then she surprises with playful spontaneous heights. She takes on Mediterranean rhythms as easily as Country and then dives into sensual drenching goddess depths. Her voice adapts easily to all styles and she has an adventurous spirit.

You may recognize Stacy's voice since she has been heard on TV and in Commercials for Gateway Computers, Toyota and Southwestern Bell ads.

5.0 out of 5 stars As good as anything by Jem, Jewel or Nelly Furtado, October 8, 2005
This review is from: Some Kind of Bird (Audio CD)
Catchy pop laced with world-music flourishes and folk, Robin's voice is powerful and sensuous, her songs uplifting and unforgettable. Eye of the Storm is a fabulous track, poppy without feeling mass produced. The opener, Follow, is just as good as anything by Jem, Jewel or Nelly Furtado! And I'm crazy about Little Stars, a deceptively simple song about family, and how a full house can bring about a full heart. Endearing. Check out Robin in her two (!) other bands, Folk-Pop marvel Imaginary Friends (with the CDs "Fragile Illusion" and "What If") and the all-girl quintet, Drawing Down the Moon, whose Goddess-Rock CD "Angel in My Dream" includes the founder of the 80's glam band Vixen!
