4.0 out of 5 stars A cute, feel-good romance
This Beauty and the Beast remake was very well done! The Caribbean setting was spectacular, and Judy's gentle interaction with all the people on the island was heartwarming and touching. The metaphor of Judy bringing a summertime feeling into John's world, and how it felt like winter even in this tropical setting without her, was wonderfully illustrated. Highly enjoyable...

While the setting was interesting, the kidnapping was inappropriate. Okay, most of the book was a good VERY light summer read, but NOT up to par with, say, Macomber's knitting series. The ending was SO lame, it made me think she received a call from the publisher telling her to put the manuscript in the mail NOW, and she rushed to end it. This fairy tale lost its wings and crash-landed. Not worth buying OR borrowing, if you like closure to your stories. This didn't even leave me with a good what-if...
