A magnificent album from one of Nashville's best non-country acts,
By
This review is from: Some Kind of Salvation (MP3 Download)
The second full-length from this Nashville indie pop band shows them overcoming label woes, personnel changes, and growing pains to create what is easily their best effort yet. The songcraft is both catchy and heartfelt, and is classic Matt Pelham style. His vocal delivery is dead-on and the production is simply amazing. Producer/engineer Brian Carter was and probably always will be the best match for this band. His vintage analog gear is perfect for their 60's pop-inspired tunes. This album outshines their past effort, Exhibit A, in almost every way, showing a much more thoughtful approach and mature songwriting. This album will probably be my top album of 2008!

Scuttlebutt is that Amazon has this posted mistakenly and The Features don't plan to release it until October. Get it while you can or you might have to wait until the Fall!

Four years later...,

This review is from: Some Kind of Salvation (MP3 Download)
As I listened to "Exhibit A" on the way home from Rocket Town that September night in 2004, I knew I had found my new favorite band. Their catchy tunes and exciting stage presence would excite any concert-goer. After four years of waiting, I downloaded "Some Kind of Salvation" to find that The Features had grown a great deal musically. After losing Parrish and gaining Mark Bond some two years ago, The Features are back with a piece or work more impressive than anything I've heard from them. This is a must-buy for anyone.
