Sauna Book Is "Hot",
By Bill Vossler (MN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Some Like It Hot: The Sauna, Its Lore and Stories (Paperback)
Not many sauna books have been written in the past twenty years, and if there had been a spate of them, this one--Some Like It Hot: The Sauna, Its Lore and Stories--would be the only one you need. It not only details the ancient history of saunas (including a story of how they possibly got started), the uses of the sauna (anyone for some sauna sausage?), as well as humorous sauna stories (during WW II, Finnish soldiers taking a sauna stayed in so long they found themselves behind enemy lines when they came out.) This book also discusses health reasons for taking a sauna, and is just simply a fact-filled, information-laced, fun book.

A must for anyone who enjoys time in the sauna,
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Some Like It Hot: The Sauna, Its Lore and Stories (Paperback)
The sauna is something that is almost universal to many different cultures. "Some Like it Hot" is a collection of short stories and tips revolving around the relaxing activity known as the Sauna. History, traditions in various parts of the world, and lots and lots of stories involving the sauna, Rajala also touches on constructing one's very own sauna. "Some Like It Hot" is a must for anyone who enjoys time in the sauna.
