More About the Author

Allie Mackay is the pseudonym of Sue-Ellen Welfonder, a USA Today Bestselling author who writes Scottish medieval romances for Grand Central Publishing. Her twenty-year airline career allowed her to see the world, but it was always to Scotland that she returned. She spent most of her adult life living in Europe, using that time to explore as many castle ruins, medieval abbeys, and stone circles, as possible. She still visits Scotland when she can as such trips inspire her.
Proud of her own Hebridean ancestry, she belongs to two clan societies and enjoys attending Highland Games. In addition to Scotland, her greatest passions are medieval history, the paranormal, nature, and animals. She enjoys long walks and bicycling, loves haggis, and writes at a 450-year-old desk that once stood in a Bavarian castle.
She is very excited to embark on a new writerly adventure with her Allie Mackay books: indie publishing out-of-print titles and new stories set in the world readers loved in the original titles.
She hopes you're join her!

Mindy Menlove lives in a castle that was transported stone-by-stone from Scotland. But when her fiance dies in scandal and Mindy decides to sell the gloomy estate, her plans unravel. She must travel to the Hebrides where she is confronted by the castle's original builder - who happens to be maddeningly irresistible and seven hundred years young. Bran of Barra was a legendary chieftain. Since then he's enjoyed his ghostly pleasures, until Mindy's appearance disrupts them. Now he must change her mind and dissuade her of her plans of neither of them will ever find peace. I must admit it, when I first picked up this book, I found that I never wanted to put it down, it was an excellent read. I highly recommend this book to all who not only enjoy stories about Scotland but also who enjoy time travel, it was an excellent book.

This is the fourth book in Allie Mackay's wonderful Highland Ghost series and for those of you that have enjoyed the series so far this is one that we have all been waiting for this is Bran of Barra's story! (For those of you that have not read this series before it would make a great stand alone and I think will have you rushing out to get the others as well!)

Mindy Menlove lives in an authentic Highland Castle that was transported stone by stone to the US and reassembled in modern day Pennsylvania by her late fiancé Hunter MacNeil. When he met an untimely but very deserved death (he was a cheating scoundrel) the castle was willed to Mindy. And while this would be a dream for most breathing females Mindy is not at all in love with the Highland castle and its dark and broody atmosphere in fact she is done with all things Scottish after Hunter's betrayal. She wants nothing more than to sell the castle and to head for the beaches of sunny Hawaii to sip fruity drinks and enjoy the good life as far from the memories of castles and MacNeil's as possible. But it seems that a host of very Scottish ghosts that reside in the castle have much different plans in store for Mindy they intend to see their beloved ancestral home back on Hebridian soil once more... and they will stop at nothing to make sure that it does!

Bran of Barra is a MacNeil through and through too the very marrow of his bones. This proud and braw 700 year old Highland chieftain has enjoyed his life and his afterlife to the very hilt! Everyone in ghostdom knows of Bran and his Island Castle of delights where food and drink flow unceasingly and women are warm and always willing.

This is a really good paranormal romance. Both are very strong characters with strong wills. The storyline develops well and watching the heroine adapt to a time not of her own is very interesting. Overall a great book.
