An appetizing and seductive comedy that centers around the friendship and tangled love lives of two young San Francisco women: the hopeful comedian and sexually carefree lesbian Kira (Kathleen Fontaine) and her best bud Sydney (Tara Howley), a food-obsessed straight woman with self esteem issues. With only stage fright keeping her from a successful stand-up comedy career, the dark-haired beauty Kira drowns her professional problems by going to bed with a bevy of nearly nameless babes. Kira later recounts all the gory bedroom details to an half amused half bewildered Sydney, a gal who'd rather eat her candy and cake than to bother with a relationship. But just when Kira thinks she's fallen in love (with the lovely Desi del Valle) she finds herself stalked (in that age old Fatal Attraction fashion) by Katie (Machiko Saito), a deranged and delusional former one-night stand. Will Kira find inspiration and stability in a loving relationship or will the calculating Katie do something to ruin what could be a happy ending? Hmmmm.

A delirious mix of sexual entanglements, modern day melodrama and tantelizing humor.

It seems that we lesbians, because we have so few movies that represent our lifestyle, really lower our standards when watching lesbian films. I saw this movie at a film festival a few years ago and here's what I thought:

If the main character is supposed to be a stand-up comedian, she should be funny. If the movie is supposed to be a comedy, the movie itself should be funny. Everyone's timing is lousy, the story is flat and the acting is abominable. We need to begin demanding more from our filmmakers. A few cute girls and steamy scenes do not make a good movie! Don't settle for less!

Slow, poorly done, not up to par for even a lesbian flick...Go buy Aimee and Jaguar, A Family Affair, or When Night Is Falling...

her face is princess stephanie, her manner, parker posey. in short, this boy don't know nuthin about her but can't take me eyes off her :) so what team does she bat for anyhoo? hope i'm not out of the running. either way, this is such a fun movie, gang, check it out, it really deserved much more critical buzz than it actually got (i.e. None, as far as i know :( ). but what i wanna know is, did henry jaglom's "eating" inspire the rhetorical question asked by the title? vt
