I'm delighted to be the bearer of great news! Sax man Andy Snitzer, whose impeccable musical credentials are literally awe inspiring (currently a member of Paul Simon's touring band, and has toured with the Rolling Stones, released three important Smooth Jazz discs in the late 90's...and that's just a quick overview) is back in the Smooth jazz arena with his just-released, remixed, re-mastered gem from 1999, SOME QUIET PLACE. It was a great album then, and it's even better now, with the first radio single, "Passion Play" added as a new track. It's a collaboration with guitarist Chuck Loeb, who's also featured. Andy's also got Bob James, Chris Botti and Philippe Saisse guesting on this album, so it's definitely star-studded. Since he's been touring in a support capacity and working as a much-sought-after and skillful music editor of late, you might have forgotten about his Smooth Jazz sax work. Let me remind you that his classic hit "You've Changed" is still in virtually every Smooth Jazz station's library to this day, along with several others, including "Restless," his great duet with Bob James. The tunes on SOME QUIET PLACE sound fresh and new and every bit as captivating as we remember Andy's work from the mid to late 90's. I, for one, am excited about the new release, and highly recommend it to you. It's going to be another of Andy's Smooth Jazz staples! ~SCOTT O'BRIEN

I first heard of this artist on XM radio and enjoyed the tune enough to purchase one of his products.
I really enjoy this from start to finish! What else can I say except it's nice to feel that this production is about the artistry of music as opposed to the commercialization of music. Wow! Refreshing! Of course I will purchase another CD from this artist. He is that good in my opinion.

A Great Mix.....,

This review is from: Some Quiet Place (Audio CD)
This latest work is a gentle blend of melodic intrigue, thoughtful orchestration, and the genuine natural Snitzer sound that defines 21st century saxophone. In "Some Quiet Place" you hear the quiet force of his melodies tempered by the sweetness of his effortless reach into the altissimo (high register on the sax) hovering over a pillow of well-mannered harmony. Andy has an easy time modulating from the Melancholy to the Hip from tune to tune, a quality seen only in a real composer. I find this production excellent and finely manicured - the mix, the composition, and the tight ensemble performance. Any one of these tracks may emerge high on the charts and your music library will be the richer when you acquire this one for your listening pleasure!
