From the moment Cash Hardeman lays eyes on Annelise Montjoy as she rides her Harley into Maverick Junction, TX, the temperature spikes. With secrets neither dares reveal to the other, Cash and Annie's conflicts go way beyond country vs. city. He's on a ticking-time-bomb mandate to marry before his thirthieth birthday...or lose the ranch he loves. She's on a quest to find the only woman who can save her grandfather's life.
Wealthy but unspoiled, Annie escapes her bodyguards and travels cross-country to a small Texas town--where she smacks head-on into a dream cowboy--and an unexpected, once-in-a-lifetime love...complete with joys and heartaches.
SOMEBODY LIKE YOU balances poignant emotion with delightful humor, drama with tenderness, and realistic need with undeniable want. The characters and locale are vibrant and engaging; the emotions speak straight to the heart.
Find yourselves comfy chairs and settle in, romance lovers. Prepare to enjoy a flip-flopped Cinderella tale of champagne flutes and cowboy boots!

I'm not a "regular" reader and usually a slow one, but I loved the story and characters and couldn't put it down. Looking forward to the next in the series.

This is the first book in the series "Maverick Junction." It is a very intriguing book that gets your interest as soon as you start reading it. The descriptions are vivid and insightful. I had a hard time putting it down. I look forward to the next book in the series. Anyone who likes romance must read this book!

When you begin this book, be prepared to not sleep. Lynnette Austin has, yet again, delivered a magnificant read! For all of you that love romance novels, Somebody Like You lets you escape into another world of pure romance and everything that goes along with a new relationship (good, bad and misunderstanding). You can't help but instantly fall in love with Annelise (Annie) and Cash. I promise, you won't be disappointed in your purchase and I can guarantee that you won't make time for anything or anyone else until you finish the book. My only disappointment is, I have to wait until June to read the sequel! I could go on and on about this book but I'm afraid if I do, I'll give away too much! I'll just let you read for yourselves! ENJOY!

Annelise Montjoy leads a life of privilege and one we can only dream of. As an heiress she knows firsthand that money can buy anything except life. She travels to Maverick Junction against the wishes of her family because she believes the answer to her family's prayer can be located there. There's one slight problem, she meets Cash Hardeman and he's different from the men she's use to. He's hardworking and not to mention good looking. The two are attracted to each other, but both come from different backgrounds. Even though they come from different worlds, both harbor a secret. Annelise's is her true identity and Cash's involves a stipulation in his grandfather's will that he must meet. Will they be able to set aside their differences and give love a chance or will their secrets divide them?

I really enjoyed Lynnette Austin's Somebody Like You. In terms of characterization, let's just say I was smitten with Cash the moment he appeared. As for Annelise, it took me a bit to warm up to her. There's nothing wrong with her except she's too naïve. I imagine an heiress still being able to operate a microwave or at least being able to read the directions on the box. Also there was the issue with money. Annelise probably doesn't think twice about budgets when she purchases items and that wasn't the big issue for me regarding it. It really came to down how much physical cash she brought with her. I can't imagine traveling cross country with that much cash on hand, but then again it plays into her naïveté. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. There are several secondary characters you'll easily love. Dottie, Annelise's landlady, is one you'll adore, as well as Cash's dog. I do have one small complaint and that's Douglas, Annelise's parent's choice for her.

Review:

"Somebody Like You" by Lynnette Austin was a beautifully told story of "When a Cowboy Meets an Heiress." This was the first of this series 'Maverick Junction' for this author. If you like cowboy reads that offers you it all in a small town then this one will not be a disappointment to you because this novel really draws you into the story starting at page one. This author presents a beautiful romance story that is so very believable and realistic. I really loved the author descriptions all the way through this story making it seem you are right there in it being so 'vivid and so insightful.' The characters Annelise Montjoy and Cash Hardeman along with some others are all so well developed, captivating and intriguing in this well written story. I don't want to give anything away other than to say you must pick up "Somebody Like You" because it is truly a wonderful romance novel of two people finding each other in this fantastic read. The only thing that is left to say is after reading this enjoyable novel you will be ready for the next series...'Nearest Thing To Heaven.'
