Review of "Somebody Loves Me",
By Robert A Fackler (Cadillac, Michigan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Somebody Loves Me (Audio CD)
I owned this album (on LP) for almost 40 years or since it came out and it is one of my favorites and thus I decided to get it on CD. I've always said that if I had to pick one artist that I could listen to forever it would be Ray Conniff. No one else has done so many great songs and in such a terrific manner. Ray arranged most of the songs like they should have been written in the first place. What a tribute, that of the more than 100 albums Ray recorded most are still selling. This album is one of the best, but they are all excellent. Most younger people are in for a real treat when they discover Ray Conniff.

If you enjoy the vocal arrangements of Ray Conniff and his singers then I know you will enjoy this C.D. version that originally came out in the early 1960's. The sound is as crisp and as clear as ever before. I am a new fan of this talented musician who has since passed on. The versions of "You're the Cream in My Coffee" and "Don't Fence Me In" are first rate. Great music is alive and well thanks to the remakes of Ray Conniff's C.D.'s!

This was my very first selection in begining my Ray Conniff collection many years (decades!) ago, and it is among the VERY best! Coupled with its immediate successor, "Memories Are Made of This," you have some of the most beautiful, lively, and high-quality stereo of the time, and transferring these to CD only enhanced the listening pleasure.
