This review is from: Somebody's Angel Child: The Story of Bessie Smith (Hardcover)
Besse Smith's legacy lives on in Chaka Khn, Aretha, and Mary J. Blige, but these artist are reaping the rewards that this woman sacrificed for. It's ad there isn't a more in-depth look into the life of Bessie Smith. This book is good, but it's mostly for a junior high school student who could benefit greatly by reading this book.
It was okay. |
