About the Author

Being 18 years old now, Michelle wrote the story when she was five years old. And her dream of having her own horses has become reality. She has three of her own plus boards others. She plans on school and owning her own horse ranch in Montana. Michelle also likes dogs, tigers, wolves, dolphins, killer whales, and cats.

Illustrator Dana Conklin was born in the month of August 1954, the year of the horse, which explains not only her life-long love for equine, but in her artwork which displays the love of animals. She won her first "Best of Show" award in high school and continues to enjoy similar awards throughout the country.
