5.0 out of 5 stars Great Sophmore Album
This is such a good cd! There are at least 3 great love songs plus some good non-love r&b songs. My favorite song has to be Will You Be Mine, with the title song Someone To Love You a close second. The only thing I didn't understand about this cd is that they put one of the songs off of their first album Love Crimes on this cd. It is still a really good song though...

You will not find too many negative reviews done by me. I always listen to a CD multiple times to be able to form an unbiased opinion about the CD that I bought and listened to. But as my mother would say, honesty is the best policy. The best thing about Ruff Endz' first CD, "Love Crimes", is that the CD was full of ballads and their first single, "No More", didn't dictate the flow of the rest of the CD. Slow jams like "Love Crimes", "I'm Not Sayin' That, I'm Feeling That", "Saying That I Love You", "I Apologize", "The World To Me", and "If I Was The One" would make you think that this group had a bright future. After listening to their 2nd CD, "Someone To Love You", you will wonder what happened and also decide that Ruff Endz are trying to do too much at one time. The first 2 songs on this CD are clearly the best songs on the CD. "Someone To Love You" plays as the prelude to the next slow jam, "Will You Be Mine" and fans of "Love Crimes" will be pleased with those songs. It sounds as if they actually took their time with these 2 songs and realized that they would make or break the CD. The next song, "You" is not that bad, but it sounds like a leftover slow jam from Brian McKnight's last CD, almost like a pop slow jam. From there, Ruff Endz can't decide if they want to tackle, Jodeci (Shake It), R Kelly (Would You Leave Me), Dru Hill (If It Wasn't For...) and we won't even talk about the Memphis Bleek featured "Cars, Money, Cars, and Clothes". The song is as generic as the title. This theme is played out and should be left alone. ...And the all time low, music listeners, is when Ruff Endz features a slow jam that was on their debut CD on "Someone To Love You". The song "You Mean The World To Me" is the exact same track that is on "Love Crimes" entitled "World To Me". Now if they would have released this song as a single, I may have understood, but since it hasn't I am confused. When Ruff Endz are belting romantic harmonies, they are at their best. If they stick to that formula, then they may have a chance to release another CD. If not then they will be just another r&b group that will be known for just 1 or 2 songs. Other tracks worth checking out are "Bigger", "Look To The Hills" and one of the few uptempo songs worth listening to, "Kamasutra". Ruff Endz has a lot of talent. They should leave all the uptempo songs about Bentleys, Ice, Ballers & SUVs alone and stick to what they do best, which is slow jams and romantic midtempo songs. They might want to find some producers that are best suited for their style of music as well.

James' Top 5

1. Someone To Love You
2. Will You Be Mine
3. Bigger
4. You Mean The World To Me
5. Look To The Hills

When I first heard their song no more, I knew that these guys had something big going for them. Their first album, Love Crimes, was a great CD. They have real tallent, unlike many of these knock off "Thug R&B" singers who only focus on degrating women, and rap-singing. Although Ruff Endz do include songs of this nature, they mainly focus on actual singin and love songs. They have finally created their follow up album, and they still are keeping it fresh. Their title track is one of the most incredible slow song ever. It has great words, beautiful music, and their voices blow me away. Also songs like Cash, money, cars, clothes and Shake it have great beats and a rap-like feel. If you really like "Thug R&B" then you may only like a few songs from this album. If you truly apreciate two singers with great voices and well written songs, then I highly reccomend this CD.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's not as bad as people set it out to be..., June 14, 2003

Okay, I like Ruff Endz for the simple fact that they do have some real vicious songs on their sophomore CD, (and they're from MD), but for real, they actually have a good CD. What would have made the CD better is if they would have cut the serious filler tracks, (i.e., "Cash, Money, Cars, Clothes", "Would U Leave Me", "If It Wasn't For", and "Dont Stop") and replaced them with some actual good songs. It's not all about being in the club and "sweatin like a muh-fu..." like they make it out to be, but on the other hand, the remainder of the CD is damn good. My favorite songs on here are: (in no order)

1. Will You Be Mine
2. Kama Sutra
3. Threesome
4. Bigger
5. Shake It

Get the album, you wont be disappointed...

i knew they had a first cd but i really never cared for it but when i bought this cd i bought it for the song "someone to love you" but as i listened to it i noticed that i like just about every song on the album. a couple of my fav's are "bigger", "you mean the world to me" and "will you be mine". i dont like them just for the melody but how they word their songs and that they use poetry a lot in their songs. i recommend this album for any fan of r&b

4.0 out of 5 stars Quote, "It takes two to make a thing go right,.." unquote., September 30, 2002
This review is from: Someone to Love You (Audio CD)
The second CD by Ruff Endz is my first purchase by this duo, and from what I heard, it was pretty cool. They seem to have a thing for being the tough, yet sensitive heroes. Songs like "Someone To Love You", "Will You Be Mine", and "You Mean The World To Me" give out that heartfelt vibe that will attract romantics, while "Cash, Money, Cars, Clothes", with guest Memphis Bleek, will keep the hip-hop/soul crowd dancing and rocking. Reminding me a little of K-Ci & JoJo, the songs seem to be interchangeable. Each duo could sing the other's songs and, maybe, no one would notice. Still, this duo performed well enough to garner my purchasing future recordings.

After hearing some of the samples of the cd i found it not as good as the first one. the first one really had me listening and bobbin my head. this one kind of made me go to sleep. im very disappointed in this album on most of the songs except ones like Someone to love you. if your thinking of buying this album for the someone to love you song, just buy the single, or buy their first hit album "Love Crimes."

This is one CD everybody needs to go out and buy. "Someone To Love You" was the first one to catch me, that was when I knew I had to get this CD. Then they speed it up for ya a lil bit with "Cash, Money, Cars, Clothes," and slow it right back down. Guys play this CD around ya girl, your sure to catch them. I think this is the best Ruff Endz CD out of the two. Keep it up fellas.

RUFF ENDZ: SOMEONE TO LOVE YOU

Ruff Endz first dropped in 2000 with the "No More" joint. That song was pretty hot but what alot of people didn't know is that the CD was even hotter. These dudes are true R&B crooners, a refreshing change to the Neo Soul falsetto voices that seemingly all new male artists today run with. Definitely molded in the K Ci and JoJo mold, although they are not as good. Their first CD was littered with nice slow grooves, from songs of apologies to deep songs dependency. The lead single on their new CD "Someone To Love You" is getting heavy rotation and, needless to say, it's the best cut on the CD, falling in the same pattern as the first CD. Unfortunately they don't stick to what they do best. The first 3 tracks are pretty good, with "Someone" being followed by "Will you Be Mine" and "You". Both of those songs are ok but nothing spectacular. Where these CD's mess up is in their effort to prove that they can be just as hard as they are gentle. There is only one "R&B Thug", and even he probably is regretting going overboard with that persona. Track 4 on this CD is purely "thug" mess, with a collaboration from Memphis Bleek of THE R O C(what has he ever done????).Track 6 "Shake It" is kinda catchy, but it just uses the down south "bounce" groove that everybody is latching on to now. Why don't people just do what they do well, stop tryin to front? Their voices are too good to waste tryin to sing/rhyme abt "clockin dollars"(btw, i official denounce using this phrase anymore. It went out with Flavor Flav's clock!!). The only other interesting cut here is track 10 "Threesome". The title is self explanatory but the groove is good, and it gets back to their style of song. Away from all the crazy rappin and thugism on this CD. Another thing I didn't like is Track 12, "You Mean The World To Me". It's a beautiful song. BUT IT WAS ON THE FIRST CD!! They just changed the title. How wack is that?? The CD only has 14 tracks so there is no excuse for that. My suggestion would be to skip this CD and buy the first one! That CD is bangin....
