More About the Author

Karoline currently has three titles under her belt. Someone to Love is a novel that highlights the tumultuous marriage of Terry and Stephanie Collins as they seek comfort in the arms of other people. Their infidelity ultimately leads them down a path of chaos and both are left wondering if they are better off calling it quits. Karoline envisioned this couple's story as a three part series.

The sequel to the first novel is Fragile Heart which was released August 14, 2008. The story continues with Terry and Stephanie facing demons of their past while they try to sort out their present issues. More pieces of the puzzle are exposed allowing the readers a better insight into this couple's life. However not all will be revealed until the final installment, Deception, is released in 2012.

Also available from Karoline Bethea-Jones is a collection of short-stories entitled Women on the Edge which highlights a sneak peak into the lives of ten women. These women are all visiting one significant part of their life that has left them at a crossroad where decisions have been made or are left to be made. The author chose the title of this book to show that the characters are all on the edge of something, whether a breakthrough or a breakdown. The stories read mostly as monologues, but occasionally as narrative and Karoline's plan for this fiction work is to be adapted into a stage play.

Overall, Karoline is an author whose strength in writing involves using the premise of realistic fiction. All of her stories have readers feeling that they personally know the characters in them because their situations jump off the page like one-on-one dialogue with the person holding the book. It is a style that few authors can master, but Karoline is well on her way to it. If asked what message she hopes to send with her writing, Karoline will tell you that she wants the running theme in all of her works to be about Choices & Consequences. As in life, her characters are presented with options and when they choose to go down the wrong path, they must ultimately reap what they sow.

"Someone To Love" starts off slowly in the beginning and towards the end, the story really picks up; it's paced and gets your adrenaline flowing.

Terry is a music producer that not only wants it all, but has it all - the wife, children and his chick on the side. He doesn't give Stephanie, his wife, the attention that she needs. And all she's ever really needed or wanted was a little TLC. Terry has been holding a grudge against his wife for eight years. While he really doesn't want her, he surely doesn't want anyone else to have her.

Getting no respect at home, Stephanie tunes her attention in to Justin; he's attentive and listens. With Terry as his producer and friend, Justin is well aware of how Terry feels about Stephanie. Unfortunately for them, they allow their friendship to climb a different chart. And if that wasn't bad enough, Justin is also married.

Torn, Stephanie really wants her family back. Her girls keep telling her she needs to leave Terry alone because he is not worthy of her love. She hasn't been to church in years and fears she isn't worthy. Or is she? The only way for Stephanie to make her house a home again is through the Lord.

"Someone To Love" is mainstream fiction that starts at a simmer and escalates to a boiling point. The protagonist takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride in her quest for true love. The subordinate characters are like jigsaw pieces that fit into a puzzle. The different aspects within the story are believable. The love triangle, which develops, makes you wonder who will triumph. This is a working class story that grasps you in the heart. It's a wake up call for women.

Karoline Bethea-Jones is a welcomed addition to the world contemporary black female authors. Her debut novel "Someone to Love" is an absolute page turner! Though a work of fiction, the relationships of the characters are believable and well developed. She captures your attention and holds it. You will not want to put this book down!
