Excellent, well worth the money,

With Lila McCann's first album Lila, I thought of her as one of the most underated female country singers along with Sara Evans and Chely Wright. I was a great fan of her first album, and this one blows it away. Her voice had matured quite a bit, taking away the few cracks and warbles brought on by over taxing a young voice. Her voice is now smooth and melodic. Her style, while one all its own, brings to mind Mindy McCreedy's Ten Thousand Angels CD. There isn't a track on this album I do not like, but some purely shine. The debut single, With You, in my opinion is destined to become a top ten hit. You're Gone, written by Bryan White and Steve Wariner brings a sad, but beautiful love lost song, very much in Bryan White's style. With I Reckon I Will, and even more so Can You Hear Me, she proves she has a bright future in song writing as well. But the jewel of this CD is When You Walked Into My Life, an amazing love song, only accented by her beautiful vocals. I recomend buying this CD to everyone. Rush and get them before they sell out.

This CD is a pretty darn good follow up to Lila's first one. The only thing I thought was kind of odd is that it seems her first CD has songs with more emotional depth and maturity on it. While her new one, made three years later, is overall more playful and innocent. This is not a bad thing...just an observation. I know that her objective was to make her second album more up tempo, which she did wonderfully I might add! I just found it interesting how hardly anyone ever has said she sang too old for her age range (while they just ripped on LeAnn!). Yet she sang several songs on her first CD as a 14-year-old that could be considered maybe too mature for that age. I'm not making any judgements myself -- I personally love both her CD's equally. It just seems it would have made more sense to have had some of the songs that were on her first album on her second and vice versa. Like Crush and Rhymes With would have been perfect for a young teen to sing, while Already Somebody's Lover and Almost Over You seem more fitting for a young adult such as Lila is now. Anyway -- not really a complaint, just a thought. Lila is still one of my favorite singers and she is awesome in concert! :)

Hey, like most of you, I think that Lila is also sooo underrated, it's not fair because she is really good. She has an outstanding voice not like most other country singers. I personally know because I have a karaoke system in my house and I pop in CD's every once in a while to sing to when I'm bored. Now, I think I have fairly an average voice and man, I can't pull off the songs as good as Lila can on this CD, while I think I'm better than Shania Twain when I sing her songs, because I guess they don't require that much vocal talent and does not have a lot of difficulty. Man, I got to give it up for Lila for doing so great on all the songs. So yeah, this is a great album with a great variety of songs, from the upbeat dances and ballads, to the inbetweens--it just has it all. Want to find some more underrated artists? Check out Hoku and Jennifer Love Hewitt.

This is not Lila's best work. Her first and third albums are by far the best. There are a few good songs on this album, but some seemed too childish for a person with her great voice to be singing. If you can't get enough of Lila, then I'd recommended getting this album because it may not be her best but most of it is worth listening to. If you want another great song that's not on any of her albums check out "To Get Me To You" off of the Hope Floats Soundtrack.

Lila is seriously awesome! She has a wonderful voice with a distinctive 'country edge' and she deserves a lot of credit. I am really dissapointed that radio doesn't play more of her songs, but at the same times plays songs by people like Jessica Andrews every hour. Lila's vocal talent is just as high as Jessica's. We all need to give her a little more credit!!!

Ms McCann has produced a nice CD with songs of energy and emotion, more on energy than the latter. Would like to see more slow but that is just my preference. An artist and her producers must do what sells or fade. Also, thanks Ms McCann for your comments as most artist don't bother

What an album!!! I went to a concert to see Alabama last summer and her voice just blew me away. I ran out to get a copy of "Something in the Air" and I was not dissipointed. I can't pick a favorite, but here are the best ones: "With You, I Will Be, Crush, Hit By Love, and Can You Hear Me" If you don't have this CD it is awesome. I am a HUGE fan of Lila McCann!!!!!!

I have a wide variety of music interests. Im usually not much of a country listener, but Lila is definiteley an exception! She is talented, beautiful, and a good role model! In this CD you see Lila's voice mature since her previous album "Lila." She sings about more mature issues and this album has a lot of songs about *love*~ Some of the upbeat songs that stand out are With You, Rymes With, Crush, and Hit By Love. Those are all great songs to listen to! She also has some ballads that I think are absolutely beautifully sung~ You're Gone, Kiss Me Now, and When You Walked Into My Life. Theres not one song thats not worth listening to! I dont use the skip button when I'm listening to this CD~ It's a great cd that I reccommend to buy! She's one of those singers that is unique and deserves more publicity than shes been getting lately! It's worth the money and you wont be sorry! :-) |
