An excellent start to a very original paranormal series that is jam packed full of action, suspense, hotness and soul deep romance. I was pulled into the pages and not let go of until the very end, just how it should be when reading a good engrossing book. This is my very first time reading from this writing duo and it will NOT be my last! A definite must read for those that are fans of the genre and enjoy an original read.

Gwen is a beautiful, strong and simple woman. She works as a librarian during the day and mainly stays home at night. The one time she decides to go out for a night on the town with her best friend, all hell breaks loose! She sees and experiences things one has only read about and meets one of the HOTTEST male specimens, ever! He actually saves her and her friend from a vicious attack. Talk about being at the wrong place and the wrong time, or rather the right place at the right time ;)

Syrus is one amazing man, he's also known as the God of death (AKA Osiris). He's one sexual, strong alpha male that also has his very own `harem' of woman to pass his time while awaiting his fated one, the one that holds the Relic, the key to his powers, his happiness and existence. Now all he needs for her to do is accept him and her place by his side.

These two are absolutely perfect for one another. I'd say without a doubt one of my most favorite couples of the year. Actually I loved many of the characters and I look forward to more in this series.

S. A. Price created a world worth reading.

Something Darker is the debut book of a new series, each featuring a guardian of an Egyptian Goddess. These men are soldiers of the world, and they were given great but ancient power in return for their allegiance to their mistress. They have become dark gods of the Egyptian Pantheon and they are the last line of defense against demon warriors known as the Veln.

They each have their powers bound by a relic and they need to find the Keeper to get it and to fight to protect the world from darkness. The Inferi Dii is the last defense against the darkness. The woman also known as the Keeper, is also their salvation.

Syrus found his keeper but without his relic, he couldn't do anything with the information. Syrus is a battle hardened warrior, and as hell. His future match is Gwen, and although she seems shy at first, she quickly warms up to him and learns she can trust him with her heart and her safety. When Gwen witnesses some of the demons kill her boyfriend, she nearly goes into shock. Syrus realizes she has the relic and he must save her.

There's a lot I don't giveaway if you haven't read the book but it is definitely worth checking out if you are a fantasy or paranormal reader. The story is action packed and gets more interesting the further into the book you get. The main characters story was very interesting, but the secondary characters were also well developed and had stories to tell, and hot sex to sell. :)

This is a classic good versus evil battle that men or women can both enjoy.

I am hooked, and now really looking forward to reading the rest of this series.

I have loved all of Stella and Audra's books that I have read but this one is different. I really like the more in depth type story and I have to say that the writing style in this book is different from the others but in a good way. I really am enjoying the story and the erotic scenes are more integrated into the story as a neccessary part of the story. I haven't finished this book yet but I am already looking forward to the next one. A definite buy for anyone who enjoys reading the whole story and not having the romantic/sex parts glossed over or exaggerated.

This is an unbelievable beginning to a new series. I literally could not stop reading this book. Stella completely out did herself with the introduction of Syrus and Gwen. Syrus is a sexy, strong God who is not complete until he meets Gwen. Gwen is the girl who is beautiful, which she does not see yet, hard working and in an abusive relationship. Gwen is also Syrus's keeper. He needs Gwen to help regain his full power. She has just been introduced into a world she never knew existed. Her introduction? Well lets just say her abusive boyfriend is no longer an issue. The Divs have taken care of that. A Div is the evil of the book. A gruesome group as you will see. We also get a glimpse of the other Gods that Syrus lives with who still need to find their keepers. Syrus is the first to find his. I can't wait to read about the other Gods and their keepers. This story had me turning pages faster than I thought possible. You will NOT be able to put this book down. I guarantee it. This is one of the best books I have read! I am trying to wait patiently for the next in the series.

I really enjoyed this book. I thought the idea behind the story, using the ancient gods from all different cultures, as major hotties within a story is genius. Just imagine them banding together to fight an incredible evil. I can't wait for all the stories involving the secondary characters to come out. In Something Darker, our main characters of Syrus and Gwen were smoldering together. You couldn't get enough of their story. It was fully developed and their chemistry practically burned up the page. All I have to say the way her evil boyfriend is dispatched in the beginning of the book is classic. If only all "evil-ex's" could meet a similar fate!!! I would totally recommend this book and look forward to reading the rest in the series.
