Buyer Beware!, September 15, 2010
This review is from: Something Funny Happened at the Library: How to Create Humorous Programs for Children and Young Adults (Paperback)
Was this book funny? Not in my opinion. It lacked relevancy to the "contemporary" student. However, if you were time warped back to 1952, and applied these suggestions, you MIGHT get a laugh.
This book was a disappointment. Poorly organized, and not good as a quick reference. Seriously, content was ridiculous (and I don't mean funny)!
In all fairness, maybe it just didn't meet my professional needs or mesh with my personal taste, but I highly suggest getting hold of copy and looking through it before purchasing it.

Fantastic Addition to any Professional Collection!, March 11, 2011
This review is from: Something Funny Happened at the Library: How to Create Humorous Programs for Children and Young Adults (Paperback)
This book is a fantastic addition to any library collection and a great resource for any librarian or storyteller! It includes a multitude of recommendations for all ages and programs including preschool-high school programs and tours and outreach programs. Rob's ideas are very versitile and easily implemented the majority of programs. I'm thrilled with this addition to our chilren's professional collection, and can't wait to implement them in my own programs!
