EXCELLENT COMBO,
By Ronnie Cowlishaw Sr. (AUBURN WASHINGTON) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Something Gonna Jump (Audio CD)
Out of all the Nappy Brown I have heard, this is the best one. It features Anson Funderburgh & Ronnie Earl, they do all the guitar work. Great vocals, and song selection, with these two guitarist how could it go wrong. Sound quality is also excellent, and this a nice long player. This is well worth a listen, so why not give it a try.

I agree with Ronnie's review : this is the best cd I've heard from Nappy Brown. Black Top Records gave him everything he needed to show what a great singer he was : for each song, Hammond Scott took the best musicians in the area (for example on lead guitar, you can hear Anson Funderburgh, Ronnie Earl, Earl King and may be the best here Eugene Ross) and with Nappy wild singing, you get 7 or 8 jewels of rhythm, blues, ballads, swing, etc. 5,5/5 !
