Best Hip Hop Album of 2003,
By "lakers87" (Eugene, OR United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Something Gotta Give (Audio CD)
In a word: AMAZING! This album is one of the most complete records I have heard in a long time. The album gets started with a great intro "Droppin Crazy Science Yo." I generally don't like intro, outros, or skit...they're usually just filler. But this is a laugh out loud skit/song poking fun of mainstream rap songs. From there the album just gets better. Perhaps one of the best songs ever is "Insomnia 411" featuring Slug and Jean Grae. The beat is ridiculous...a 4 chord piano underneath a pulsing bass line. The lyrics dropped by Kimani, Slug, and Jean are heartfelt and express raw emotion. There is probably more emotion on the chorus than on any R&B album out there. This album covers everything from the state of hip hop to love to being jacked by Kurt Loder! Do yourself a favor and open up your mind and ears to this album...you won't be disappointed!

One of my favorite new albums,
By A Customer
This review is from: Something Gotta Give (Audio CD)
This is one of the most slept on LPs of 2003. Len and Kimani come together to put a less serious, but very critical album. Kimani raps about everything from love, to making fun of underground hip hop. This album is a new-classic and should be bought if you are a hip hop head.

Kimani from Masterminds and Mr. Len from Co flow get together to make one hell of a record. Funny and serious with good beats and great flows. Catchy choruses. Word. Also features slug.

I feel pretty foolish for waiting so long to buy this album, I mean Jesus, it's Mr. len, and Kimani, how could this suck. I think it's because of some of the reviews I read in the past, I got the feeling it was more of a comedy album or something. While there are some damn funny moments here, there are some serious bangers as well. Check "Timmy", "Insomnia 411", and my personal favorite "Maybe". If your like me and have been meaning to buy this but always seem to pick up something else you think you'd like more, do yourself a favor purchase this gem.

It's Yosh's Fault!!!!,
By Tilly (Tarzana CA United States) - See all my reviews

This would be the best album ever but Yosh ruined it. He's this MC outta D-Town and he just ruined the tracks. Everything he touched turned to nothing...All I'm saying that I think everyone should wear shirts saying how much we hate his raps and his voice. Then maybe he wont be featured on the next rap. Word.
