Euro trance at its best.,

This review is from: Something (Audio CD)
This song is the latest European dance track to cross to the US radios. The song released earlier this year got as far as number 29 on the club charts and 8 on the sales charts. So naturally radio finally found the track and played it now to a more favorable reaction to the US audience. The trance track comes with 4 remixes that are excellent. The song is more aggressive in sound than most trance records - it is the vocals that really carry this song. The song is one of pleading for mercy from a lover to not go. The mixes are the Extended mix(5:56),the W.O.S.P. remix(7:25),Peter Luts remix(7:42) and Jimmy Goldscmitz remix(6:05). The best mix is to me the Jimmy Goldschmitz mix because it takes the song to a different place than the other mixes. Just a great mix drama and music. Huge radio hit.

I changed my mind after hearing the whole album, and giving this song itself a better chance...Lasgo is now to this date one of my favorite acts, but heres my old review below anyways....Its things like this that make me not respect trance music!: Need I say more? Here is the first single from Lasgo, and I'm hoping its the last, because Lasgo is nothing too impressive. I hear many people compare Lasgo to Ian van Dahl, but there is a MAJOR difference betweent the two. That difference is that Ian van Dahl is good. Ian van Dahl isn't exactly the number one composer of all time or anything like that, but there is some really great trance/techno music generated from that area. With Lasgo, the titles are all used up, nothing is new, and the lady cannot sing. She sounds like Tiffany, remember, the I think we're alone now girl? This is stuff that would have been impressive maybe 15 years ago, definitely 20 years ago, sorry guys, too late!

First of all, I listen to Classic, Hard Rock, metal, glam-metal, and even some Jazz and country. From Chris LeDoux to Yngwie Malmsteen. I play the guitar and have more musical knowledge and appreciation than most, and more than all my friends combined. I don't even know if Lasgo's music genre is trance or techno, but I don't care! I'm not into bass, but after I first heard Lasgo on Youtube... I was impressed. I'm no expert at techno-type music, but I think I have a great ear for good music! Of course, I don't like even half of Lasgo's songs, but I think they have a dozen or so very good songs. I can't say that for any other techno band, even as I try hard to find some! The Lasgo songs that I just love listening to are: Surrender, Deep in your Heart, Follow You, Something, Blue, Alone, and Cloud Surfers. Sure, the heavy synth sound can be repetitive, but these songs seem to have what most don't...longevity. Some of these songs may be old, but for some reason, I love listening to them in my car or at the gym! It's strange to say this, but it's the careful blending of catchy lyrics, beautiful voice, and musical talent that works for me. I guess it stirs up some emotion in me that other styles of music can't. Maybe it's the visions of beautiful women, clubs, and sleek import cars that makes me feel alive in a strange trance-like state. Lasgo songs, unlike other bands, are not overly done in terms of in-your-face volume and noise. They have good breaks and rhythm. I just wish that there were more music like this...as I'm still looking. Since Evi Goffin left, I haven't heard any new songs that are even close to the ones I've mentioned. I think that every good band has certain signature songs, and LASGO seems to have a lot more than any techno band I've listen to lately. So I hope this short review shows that Lasgo is not only very good, but succeeded to attract someone from the fringe like me...
