Liz Weber has a knack for taking a very complex process (leadership development) and painting a picture that everyone can grasp. If you've ever felt like you didn't know the next step to becoming the best leader you can be, my first recommendation is to read this book. Next, I'd invite you to find your place in the five stages that Weber outlines (developing systems, managing, leading, mentoring, and moving on). The words on the pages of this book pop out at you - color, graphics, quotes, tips, assessments. Weber provides a solid road map and the book feels like you are taking the scenic route - so pleasing to look at and read.
Liz Weber, known as the Dragon Lady of Leadership Accountability, shared the following quote in her new book: Something Needs to Change Around Here, The Five Stages to Leveraging Your Leadership: "Being a manager or a leader is a privilege. It's an honor to have others respect your abilities enough to allow you to lead them. It's an honor to have others trust you to guide them and support them as you work together." Interesting quote, but even more, that's an amazing concept. Ask yourself, how many managers and leaders behave in such a way that demonstrates their understanding of the concept that their leadership position is a privilege? If you want to learn how to become a better leader, do not pass go, do not collect $200. Run to the nearest computer and reserve your copy of Liz's book (or use your tablet or buy it via Amazon in hard copy). You will definitely be glad you read this leadership gem.
