I first encountered Amber Rubarth when I saw her open for Kate Taylor at a small club in New Hampshire on a rainy night back in January. I had never heard of her, and was instantly impressed by the uniqueness of her music.

Imagine if you will the vocal styles of Paula Cole and Rickie Lee Jones mixed together and you'll be in the neighborhood. As a lyricist, Rubarth is particularly impressive, as her songs are actually ABOUT something, and have poignancy and a happy-go-lucky charm completely lacking in most singers her age.

If she comes to your neighborhood, you should go see her; in the meantime, you owe it to yourself to buy this CD.

Amber is an AMAZING artist!! Her uniquely wonderful voice and freshly original songs make her a must have for your music collection. Amber's vocals as well as her charm and good heart will leave you inspired... Buy her CD you won't regret it!!

This is absolutely one of the best albums put out independently this year. If Patsy Cline and Socrates got together and had a kid, it would have been Amber Rubarth... a very old fashioned feel mixed with some deep lyrics about ideas that the greatest minds have taken to throughout time.

I ran across this album after hearing some rave reviews from a friend and am absolutely glad that I got it. I give it 5 Stars and recommend it to anyone who likes great music and sultry vocals.

This is a remarkable CD that you can listen to all the way thorugh. Every song is amazing. THis is one of my favorite CD's I always listen to it when I am on a road trip. "Somthing New" has such variety, each song is an individual thought and they all sound different. Amber has one of the most captivating voices I have every heard. You won't regret buying this CD.
