5.0 out of 5 stars "Light is always looking for a body." a. greiman, January 13, 2005
This review is from: Something from Nothing (Design Process) (Paperback)
If you are one who loves the west, particularly southern California, you will find great pleasure in this book, returning to it over and over again. April's digital work offers a view that is both humorous and reverential, reflecting the consequences of dysjunction and ambiguity in the present moment, the environment, politics and the general state of being.

I confess I am a fan of Greiman's work. It is always changing the way I see the world and the way I am in it. No small thing. If you are a designer, her typography alone will stop your heart. How does she do it? If you are an architect, you will gather a new vision of space, demonstrated in the relationship of art and type. Let your eye read it. If you are a interior designer, let yourself absorb her use of color and integrate it into your senses, or die trying. If you are a student of the environment, this is also your book. You see the world as both intimate and removed;its real self. If you are a poet, you will see the wordless poem in much of the work. And then, again, if you are a radical, conservative evangelical, you will see God's world in its full blown beauty and worth through the eyes of an angel from another planet. Praise the Lord.

This book...it is good. I recommend it for, say, long plane flights when you don't want to think, but just want to look at and feel the world differently, which, for me, is most of the time, most days. And finally, if you are a singer, don't read this book. You will be up all night warbling, crooning, trying, hopelessly,to find the tune that expresses its great pleasure.
