Saw Chris the other night in Milwaukee at Shank Hall and honestly, it was some of the best playing from Chris that I've ever seen. Maybe it was his shorter hair? ;) Whatever it was, I picked up a copy of his new CD, "Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, All Things Blue" and let me tell you, it really is a must have if you like Chris at all. It has both studio tracks and bootleg live recordings on it; just a great representation of what Chris is all about. So, if you like Blues, Rock, Jazz and Funk all rolled up into one driving sound, you need to purchase this CD. Way to go Chris!!

i have all the chris duarte cd's. i've enjoyed him in concert more than once. i've even met the man. he's very nice and accommodating. imagine my excitement when i found out he had a new cd coming out. bought it and returned home to add it to the collection. popped it in the cd player. then i got on the duarte fan website and found out it wasn't even new material. as this cd isn't on the official website i'm guessing this may be a record company repackaging. yes, there are new tracks. one new studio track and four unreleased live tracks. that pretty much describes a greatest hits repackaging to me. usually when a record company does this there is some way to tell that it isn't all new material prior to purchase. this is exactly why people don't buy the shiny plastic discs. next time just put the words "anthology" or "greatest hits" on the cd instead of some sly title that may or may not allude to the facts.
now i'm looking at the liner notes and the recordings being repackaged only date back to 2007 and 2008.

It was OK but nothing special. I was looking for something with more feeling in the music and it just wasn't there.
