5.0 out of 5 stars 23 year old female Britney fan!, February 14, 2005

This review is from: Do Something Pt.1 / Everytime (Audio CD)
I am so tired of people hatin' on Britney. No matter what she does, there is always someone complaining. Leave the girl alone! If you don't like it, don't listen to it people! Nobody is forcing you to listen to her. Anyway, this song is so AWESOME! She isn't trying to "rock out" like some people like to say. It is actually very pop and original at the same time. It is a typical Britney song, though, which makes it slightly monotonous. None the less, I love Britney and pretty much every song she puts out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Britney Does Somethin' Amazing!, October 11, 2005

Where do I start. First of, like Britney or hate her, she has pretty much dominated the music industry for the past Five years.

Now, we all know there are plenty of you out there who like to criticise Britney, whether for her outrageous acts, her seemingly unrestrained sexual exploits or whatever else you people like to throw, but you seem to fail to realise the women standing on the receiving end of your vicious swipes.

Britney is very young and has I would presume, had an amazing opportunity with such magnitude of fame so quickly; who are you to dare judge her or treat her as a focus for morals and values.
Yes, Britney may well be an icon to many other younger women, but is surely _NOT_ her job to teach or provide an appropriate role model; are you an appropriate role model in your actions?

Britney is a young women who has had an amazing opportunity. Nobody, repeat nobody forces you to listen to her music or accept what she stands for. If you don't appreciate, like or accept the image or connotations of her then that is your own business, it does not give you the right to criticise her and it certainly does not give you the right to have expectations of her!

You people criticise her because of her music. It's either too Pop, or it's too much trying to be Hip/Hop or whatever else, but this is the music industry. Britney is there first and foremost to earn a living. Yes, Britney may be considered a Pop artist, that doesn't mean she is unable or not entitled to use influences of other music genres in her music. So damn what if 'Do Somethin' may be considered a little 'Rock'; it sounds brilliant.

I've heard people say 'this song is dumb', well Can't Get You Out of My Head may be considered dumb but that was an instant hit. Christmas carols may be considered dumb but we still sing them. This is not a question of the song being 'dumb'.

The very fact we're all sat here discussing Britney only goes to reinforce the massive impact she has had on our society. You say you dislike her, if that's so you wouldn't waste your time writing up posts about her, only to inform us you 'didn't like her song'.

Britney, to some people, will never be able to do right from wrong. Whatever direction she goes in she will be under the pointless criticism of people like _you_. Well, somehow I think with Britney's birth, husband and bank balance, I don't think she is loosing too much sleep over your comments.

Yes, Britney is mass marketted and that can be a little tedious, but Britney would not be there if Y-O-U people out there did not buy her albums.

Britney is the star that she is in today's society and the reason is because Y-O-U allow her to be that star.

As for me? I think it's wonderful for Britney and I congratulate her on all her success. I wish the very best in the future; for her marriage and her new born child.

Good luck Britney, and when you return to the studio, ensure to give the world that classic blend of Pop-meets-Rock-meets-R'N'B that we all love and enjoy (even if some people are a little shy to say!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Other than the edited remix, this is a slammin club track, October 28, 2005

The fact that this is a britney spears track is irrelevant if you love dance music. Simply put, it is HOT.

It's really unfortunate that they had to give us the edit of the DJ Monk mix. Even so, while that mix is good, it is the Thick Vocal mix that is going to blow your mind. A throbbing, driving electro dance vibe, this is one that would have your body freaking out on the dancefloor. Plus, you get the added bonus of the previously hard to get Valentin mix of Everytime as a bonus.
