PreSchool-Grade 3 Jill, her basset hound Fletcher, and her friend Gwen are at it again in this welcome return of the characters from the ``Something Queer'' mystery series (Delacorte). The girls and two friends enter a TV rock music contest. The band plays an original piece (words and music included on the endpapers), and Fletcher howls on cue when a piece of pizza is held above his nose. They win the first round, but then Fletcher disappears mysteriously. Combining humor, mystery, and hilarious cartoon-like illustrations in shades of orange and brown, the book will be great fun for the picture book and young reader crowd.
