Crowded House "Something so Strong" is like most eighties things either loved or hated depending on your opinion of the era, but I defy anyone who can listen to the off-beat quirky tune and not crack a smile for any number of reasons. Something So Strong is cotton candy on a summer day for the ears because it's hopeful and upbeat lyrics and tune tend to allow the listener to drift out of the world they currently occupy and into a simpler time in place or maybe for those of us who never lived the era to dream about what life could be in another time and place. Most likely though it just provides the listener a few moments of distraction from reality by making them think about what used to be. On the count of providing a distraction this download gets five out of five.
