Wow! I got my copy just in time before this went out of print. Every song on this album is outstanding. As for the reviewer whom said the guys cannot do ballads I completely disagree. No Show is the best ballad the band ever made.

Steppin Out is one of the best disco/funk songs of all time. There is not one bad song on this collection. If you can get your hands on it at a decent price please do yourself a favor and pick it up. Outstanding!

I prefer this album cause every songs are groovy,funky and beatiful.Try to listening'Get Down On It,Good Time To Night,Steppin' Out,Stop!,Be my lady,Stand Up And Sing,Take My Heart'for dance.'No show,Pass It On'Kool LOve songs!Return of the disco years with this album.That's really cool.(Of Course with J.T'S beatiful and smooth voice)

Sjajan cd sta recci...Funky Masterpiece,to je jedan od retkih diskova koji mogu da pustim ccesto i to od prve do zadnje pesme.Izbor pesama je occigledno jako dobro i dugo smissljan.

I'm not a funk expert. I tend towards jazz, rock, classical and have a degree in music composition. But I heard "Get Down on It" in a movie and knew these guys were one of the best dance bands I ever heard. "Take My Heart" is a classic. Every type of music does something unique. This makes you move, the tempos vary, and there's a strong romantic core to it. I recommend this album very highly. The musicianship and artistry are top-notch.

This is a classic album by Kool & the Gang. It includes some of their best songs ever. Don't miss it!

This album is a silver classic because it was released over a quarter-century ago. You get funky hits like TAKE MY HEART which is musically,a clone of Stevie Wonder's ISN'T SHE LOVELY?. Another Top 20 hit is GET DOWN ON IT which is a popular favorite amongst infamous R&B cover bands(I have heard such bands perform the track). The other songs are fantastic!

Finally.the band at his great funky-deodato moment.The tracks are killers bomb on the dancefloor.
Get down on it,Take my Heart,Steppin out...every serious-dj played in the clubs.The bonus track,Stop!,previously unreleased,is a good track but the best is still the original track list...Play it loud!!!!!!!

I first got this album on LP when I was only 3, and I've loved it ever since. Every song on here a classic. J.T. Taylor is a hell of a vocalist and on this album he proved that he's right up there with Prince, the late Rick James, and any male artist that came out of Motown. To this day "Get Down On It" is still my favorite track from The Gang. I just wished that "Stand Up & Sing" & "Be My Lady" had also been released as singles or at least B sides. "Stop" is a KOOL bonus to the original. I just recently got my hands on a copy of this disc and let me tell you, It's Still SOMETHING SPECIAL!

These tunes all have that great 'Celebration' grooves and
singalong tunes-topped off by that silky JT Taylor singing who
really shows off his thing on "Take My Heart" and the classic
"Get Down On It" with great,tuneful jams like "Good Time Tonight","Be My Lady" and the synth-spiked "Stand Up And Sing"
thrown in between with "Pass It On" and the catchy "No Show" are
superb ballads.So no filler here but WAIT-there's a bonus cut-
the percussive "Stop!",a jazzy instrumental that shows that
K&TG have never forgotton how to funk.Welcome to something very
special indeed!

actually i have this album on lp(without Stop!)but i thought i couldn't get enough,and i had decided to purchase this masterpiece.More importantly i was very curious to hear Stop! at least, and when i listened this superb track first time, i had realized it's as funky as their previous instrumental songs(this is just my opinion:))accordingly i recommend this album for everyone who likes RnB and funk music and besides i also recommend their 82' album "As One" and 83 album"In The Heart" (They are not currently available which is a massive shame!)Why are you waitin for?Let you discover their funky world! J.T. AND KOOL.THEY ARE THE ONE!
