Editorial Reviews

Review

I read "Something" and truly enjoyed it. It was such a pleasure to read a tender romance with real characters. The mood was sweet and I intend to look for similar works by this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST READ May 12, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Something, is the short story (guessing 1,000-1,500 words) of Joanne and David. Joanne is a widowed mother and grandmother who recently returned to her hometown. When her car gets a flat, the last person she expected to pull up was David, her first love. This is a very short story of two people given a second chance at love after life tore them apart many years before. The story of Joanne and David is so sweet and romantic you can't help but love them and cheer them on. The author did a great job or managing to make the characters lovable with so very few words.
I recommend this book to anyone and give the author total props for writing such a wonderful short story!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great ultra-short romance May 15, 2011

This ultra-short story took about 10 minutes to read and put a big smile on my face that lasted for a lot longer. I strongly recommend it to even the busiest reader.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sweet little story if you are looking for time filler October 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It does seem more like a synopsis than a story but if you are looking for a short story this is a fluffly little dessert, not a meal, nothing to sink you mind into, just a quick coffee break.

This book is short... Too short. It took me less than five minutes to read. I thought the story was super cute, but where's the rest of it?

4.0 out of 5 stars Sweet, Sad Short Story December 12, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Sweet, sad short story. Enjoyed it. Could have been a little longer and more detailed. Some passive writing. All in all, a good story. It could be improved upon and added onto to make a really great story for next Christmas. Hint. Hint. A women wonders what happened to her old boyfriend and thinks she'd been just a summer fling until she discovers what really happened. I think if he'd recognized her in some way it would've been better, too. Even if the story showed him wondering about her, and it could be made longer by giving his viewpoint as well as hers, thereby adding more detail with multiple viewpoints.
